If your car is still under the original factory warranty, have the dealer replace it. It should just be a cover. Had them change a few times on some Corvettes. Should be covered under warranty.

Chevy dealers now in our area indicated that Chevy now has to authorize any trim parts being replaced under warranty and pics have to be submitted. Doubt it will be replaced based upon what several dealers are saying about their approval rate on what’s submitted to them, they will say it’s wear and tear. When I bought my brand new Camaro, drivers door panel was discolored in several spots, Chevy wouldn’t approve replacing it even though Lansing plant sent it out the door that way. Since the vehicle was brand new, dealer ran it under dealer accommodation, paperwork I received back when picking vehicle up when panel was replaced stated that it was not being replaced under “warranty”. If this is truly how Chevy is handling trim replacement now this will be my last new car purchase from Chevy. Extremely poor customer service on Chevy’s part-not any fault of the dealer. I have been a 40+ year customer of Chevy and GM purchasing many new cars throughout the years. We bought a new Mazda CX-5 and some exterior trim scratched and discolored. Dealer indicated trim would be replaced by Mazda, no questions asked. Bought a 5th gen new Camaro in 2011 built at Oshawa plant and quality of build was great compared to build quality at lansing is sub par. Wonder if the cadillacs being churned out of this plant have the same build quality as Camaro? We also have had several new Impalas built at the Oshawa plant and their build quality was consistently first rate. Too bad 6th gen Camaro wasn’t left at Oshawa plant to build for customers. I hope you get your seat cover replaced-these cars are not cheap to purchase. Maybe they can get it right on their new EV products, time will tell.

I get what your saying. After 6 weeks of taking delivery on my ordered 2021 2SS 1LE, and arriving with the hood wrap all f'd up, it is supposed to be replaced Tuesday. The crazy part is the dealerships will not do it and it was sourced out to a 3M Installer. The crazy part is the service manager said I had to get as much of the original matte black wrap as I could from the installer so they can send it back to GM.

Seats
I don't hold out a lot of hope that GM will do anything about the seats. I think I will try with the Cadillac first. It is more noticeable against the beige interior. I'm thinking the only way I will get GM to cover it is to grease the process ahead of time. Since I use to work for the current Zone Manager I might be able to get it covered.

Good luck with repair… I’ve had leather in one car and one car only. The ZL1 (bolsters). It drove me nuts that the the slightest rubbing against the bolster would impart wear. As well, the leather got a bit shinier / darker in the areas where body oils touched it. I know some of that is the nature of the beast, but I’m going back to cloth. Cloth just looks new longer.
Again hope all works out for you… those marks would bother me too. |
