Because you made a statement that asked a question, so you I care about.

Awesome time He almost won, if I read the result sheet right, it was down to reaction time and his car was faster than the winning Mustang.

I think what the situation is, most of the ZL1 guys are older ! I like vengeance racing and decided I want there stage 3 cam in my ZL1 this past weekend , started to order it, but I'm still under warranty for 2 more years. When your 50 years old, and drag (bikes)race, ran a few nines, road race bikes a little, Been close to 200 on the streets back in the day, and seen funny cars race, you just dont get to impress with suff anymore. There's a part of me that wants to build a turbo hayabusa with 400 hp, to run 8s or 7 seconds, but I'm just getting over a broken fibula from kicking a dog while on my bike, So the 50 year old body says sit down, play with your muscle cars and ZL1, but manly enjoy life and slow down. The younger generation are into video games, fantasy football etc.
Thank you for the information I will haft to find a video of vengeance racing the car !

Well, I appreciate that, but I want the ZL1 community to care about others in it too, whether they post here or not, what Jason has accomplished should be applauded. He's pushing the limits for what these cars are capable of. Whether you know it or not, these cars ARE compared to a Hellcat or a GT500, and they're often looked down on for not being able to compete at the drag strip with those other two vehicles. The ZL1 is capable, but not a lot of people know about it, that's what Jason is doing for the community in my opinion.

There are a LOT of Hellcat owners that are older too. I'm 45 and there's more than I can count that are older than me that drag race their cars every weekend. Same with the Corvette community, age isn't really a big factor in my opinion simply because the price of these cars is cost prohibitive to most of the younger generation. I think the ZL1 is really poorly marketed and seems to be looked over by potential buyers because no one knows what they can do.

I get all that, & that’s great if that’s what he, or anyone, wants to do.

I agree it is very capable, any of the new cars are, but I can’t help it that I’m just not very excited about it. It’s neat to see, sure, but like I said I’m just not that interested. I bought my car to drive & enjoy as it is & I don’t have time, money, nor ambition to go drag racing like I used to. I did it for the majority of my younger life so I’m over it. That existentially extends to what others do in high competition heads up racing, that’s usually a “He with the most money wins” kinda thing. It doesn’t really prove anything either way to me.

Your post was published what 48 hours - you killed the VIBE with this response - there are many who are EXCITED and love seeing stuff like this, but don't access the forums as frequently - Comparing the Z community to the Kitty Community is apple to oranges - as you should no the Z is an all-around sports car that DOM-I - NATES in everything fast - the Kitty is a 1 trick pony. Here some are impressed by drag times most are impress by track times.

I think it's pretty cool being I am more interested in what street cars run in street trim(minus drag pack) opposed to taking a nice car tearing out all of it's amenities to run a number and still claim it's street. Not saying that is what Jason has done...I believe his car is pretty much full weight.

I'm not impressed by drag racing. Never have been. Anyone can dump a shit ton of money into a car, mash the gas pedal and make it go fast. I'm more into road course racing.

This was written last year when it a little slower...

https://www.lsxmag.com/features/a-si...en-camaro-zl1/

"Leiva relishes how rounded the car is from a performance perspective. He said, “I can drag race it on the weekends, and hit the mountains hard the next with no less confidence in how it will do."

Agree 100%. I feel like nearly any car can be fast if you take enough weight out of it so kudos to the guys that do it with a full weight street car.

That's not true at all, but ok. Drag racing takes a lot of skill too to really extract the most out of a vehicle.
