California is a strange place and the laws are ridiculous
2035. And it's an executive order. Meaning it's not a command or mandate but rather a "goal". Just like Newsom wanted to see 3.5 million houses to be built, which never happened.
There's 5 ZL1s for sale within 100mi of me. One is about 20 min away and is marked down to $64K.

You should know the infrastructure in places like DFW is hopelessly unable to meet the demand, terrible roads and construction. There are segments of the highways that have been under construction for the entire 10 years I've been going there for work, jamming at all hours of the day and especially during rush hours.

The hot weather, humidity, flat land, lack of public land, taxes and huge distance to get to anything different seal the deal. I've been all over Texas and have no desire to ever live there.

That said, everyone always seems to think living in CA means you need to live in LA or SF, as if there are no other places you can live in CA.

For anyone that lapped up the copper story as the reason they can't get a ZL-1, you need to learn how to look up laws and information. WA has a similar law, due to how it's been found to affect Salmon in their ecosystem.

What the liberals have done to ca is criminal!

The worst part is folks moving out cuz they can no longer afford to live there and many taking their liberal ideas with them to infest other areas that once were clear thinking states like here in AZ.

Don't California my Arizona!

The salesman at dealers are usually clueless unless they are enthusiasts themselves.

The SS, SS 1LE, ZL1 and ZL1 1LE all share the same Ferrodo/Brembo pad material.

I believe the inability to place a new order at this time of the year has more to do with the normal temperatures that are seen in Michigan this time of the year and the tires that are on the ZL1, ZL1 1LE and the SS 1LE. They all cannot be driven on in low temps. In the past, the those cars with the Goodyear 3/3R where not produced again until spring.

Tell me about it. Wife and I just got married, sold our old houses and bought our current 1. New area / New build. Thankfully all of our neighbors have been super nice and mostly conservative (I dont know to many liberals with lifted trucks, muscle cars, modded razors, ect) but every now and again, a damn California plate vehicle is seen moving in and its like...****... 50/50 shot they aren't retarded.

Sorry for the OP...that would be frustrating...

I live in Arizona and this is where many Californians are moving to right now to escape many issues. Housing cost and availability here in AZ right now is crazy!!! Ugh

The only thing I love about Cali is the beach. I grew up in Florida so from time to time I miss the beach. In 5 hours (less if I took the ZL1) I can be hanging out at the ocean

I live 2 miles from the beach and and pay $1550/mo for my condo mortgage and it will be paid off in 10yrs when I'm 60. I don't see the reason to flock.

Both have told me GM will not accept any orders for ZL1s as there are issues with the Brembo brake pads. The reason is different with each dealer. One told me California outlawed the car because the brake pads emit copper when braking. The other dealer that accepted my order and will hold it until production resumes stated it was a nationwide hold relating to the Brembo brake pads.

Being impatient I found a new ZL1 in southern California that was close to what I wanted. I drove 350 miles with my enclosed car carrier trailer and upon arrival I was told there was a stop sale recall on the engine. They described it as a valve adjustment and flash of the ECM. I can't find any information online about a recall or even a TSB for the LT4 engine. Not knowing the skill level of the mechanic at this dealership I did not want a car that the engine was screwed with that ends up being a lemon law suit. I drove home empty handed.

Are there any Chevrolet people that might know what is going on here?
Seems you were correct.

I have lived in 8 states and visited all 50. Our TN home is our final stop. Property taxes are so low most people wouldn’t believe me and $29 to register any vehicle for a year. No state income tax and cheap gas (93 was $1.99 today). No annual vehicle inspections, no emissions, and not a toll road in the entire state.
Bottom line is love where you live or move. It really isn’t that difficult.

My last 2 places were in Franklin and Chattanooga. I moved to CO for my wife’s job. Now I pay state income tax, paid twice as much for a smaller house, pay $1000 per year personal property tax for the privilege of owning my ZL1 and I live in emissions hell. I can’t wait to get the flock out of here and back to TN.
