Parts 4,473.89
total labor 2,332.58
shop supply 168.41

Subtotal 6974.88

Sales tax 230.87

Total 7205.75
They should not be trying to make money off the parts at all. Look at it like this, why even buy the parts from them in the first place if they're gonna upcharge you and then charge you labor on top of it? In that case you might as well just buy all the parts on your own, pay them for the labor, and then save money. The shop doing my build, I checked their prices and they not making money off the parts I'm buying. And the labor for everything they're doing is very fair. So if I were you I'd tell these guys to keep their parts.

At $7K-ish you should also be getting a cam and some porting (if not full porting) of the stock blower. And those should be 2" LTs as well. Along with a handheld tuner. So again, I think you are on the high end of what one should pay for those mods. However some of the smaller less prominent shops might charge more since they aren't getting the flow that the bigger shops are getting. And they're probably not getting the same prices for parts as the big guys. If anything it sounds like this is just a shop and they are ordering the parts for you. And I'm not trying to put them down. But I think you could have gotten a better deal elsewhere. Did you shop around? Did you visit the vendor section here and check out some of the top vendors?

Yup I agree 100% A shop can categorize their builds any way they choose. What it really comes down to is trust and reputation. Basically you get what you pay for so if you are ok with the quote and their reputation is solid then i think its all good.
