Yep, my neighbor has a 70 Chevelle and all his friends that come over have muscle cars. They were doing this when they left his place all the time. One afternoon I was taking a nap and one of his buddies lit up his tires for about 30 yards. I woke up and lost it. I went over and told him exactly how I felt and what would happen if another one if his buddies does it again. Nobody has done it since. I don't like to be an ass, but if I need to be I can. Go into your own neighborhood and do it and see what your own neighbors think of you.

There's a kid across the street from me with a 392 and either a very non restrictive exhaust or straight pipes and he seems to only start he car between the hours of 9pm and 3am. Every night he's coming and going from his parents house at all hours. To his defense he's not lighting up the tires. No idea whats he's doing all night long. Its frustrating as hell, thankfully he looks to be about the age where he should be moving out soon.

Yeah, I’d be upset too.

In fact, even with a stock NPP, I sometimes feel the sport setting on a cold start is loud enough to wake the neighbors.

I wish that, just like the C8 can memorize 1000 locations and automatically lift the front to avoid scraping, all Chevy sport cars could do the same with an exhaust... allow the user to go into stealth mode during certain times or at locations automatically. As of now, you can only switch modes once the car has been started. Whereas with my solution, I could start the car early morning in stealth mode and not worry about waking a neighbor or my sleeping infant.

You mean like my 'neighbor' with the Chrysler 300 who used to like to cut donuts in the cul de sac in front of my house?

Nope, I find that getting mad does no good at all. Getting even on the other hand can be very satisfying.

He got a warning, did it again, and is probably still wondering where the half dozen .177 diameter holes strung out over two doors and a couple of quarter panels came from. He may have a suspicion, but he hasn't had the stones to come knock on my door.

A Gamo 1000 pellet gun costs less than $200 dollars, is very quiet, and spits those pellets out at 1,000 fps. Pretty nifty toy.

Have a neighbor couple houses down with a 392 charger. He knew I had a Camaro cuz every time he passed by my house he would step on it or rev it. Until one day I told him “let’s run it”. He didn’t know I was bolt on and. E85, beat him by 2+ car lengths (basically got the gapplebees special with an extra side of tail lights) all 3 of our runs and haven’t heard his car since. Sometimes, them mopar Boys need to experience reality for a bit and not believe Dodge that they’re the fastest cars ever made.

I guess I'm a snowflake. When I'm awake I don't care, but, my SS is louder than the voice of God and I personally never use it at certain times of the day and night out of respect for my neighbors. I don't want to hear anything like that when I'm sleeping peacefully after a shitty day or any kind of day.

It's annoying but for anyone that ****s with another dudes car regardless is bad karma. I know we all car guys but fkn with a car is border line ass kicking even if driver is in the wrong. Don't **** with people's cars. Handle it appropriately.

While not revving and burning tires but along similar lines, I had a kid down two streets from me who would turn his radio up very loud late at night (after midnight). I finally managed to find which truck was doing it and eventually found the house that the truck parked at. I work a normal day job, up at 6AM, I drove over to the house in question and played my music extremely loud out front. Not 5 minutes later an older man walked out to confront me. Asked me what I was doing, my response was to ask him if he was the one driving that truck parked in the drive way to which he said that was his sons car. I explained that every night around Midnight that truck would go by my house, just down a couple streets from here, with the music loud enough to shake the windows and wake me. He said, "keep your music down and get out of here." I left with a, "have a great morning." I never heard that truck and its loud music again.

I am definitely not advocating revving and burning tires out front of the house of the person doing this to you... never know who you're dealing with these days. Just some people out there that enjoy being a nuisance.

This happened in my neighborhood a couple months back, a car started a burnout on my street but like nothing I have ever heard before. it probably went on for five minutes. I was working from home and on a conference call but so badly wanted to run out and see who it was. Later I went out and believe it or not there were two ruts in the pavement. I almost think that whoever did it had beef with the people that lived in the house across the way. It was so extreme and in the middle of a neighborhood.

Given he lost control and almost took out my mailbox with my 10-year-old play in about 15 feet away, he’s lucky I didn’t shoot him with my 45. I’m not ashamed of it and I would do it again, fortunately I think he’s figured it out.

I thought I would add my neighbors got him on video, called the cops, his car was parked on the street, and the cops did zero. Didn’t even go knock on his door.

There's a time and a place for everything. In a neighborhood at 1 am is not the time or place to run your exhaust in track mode, or run any other kind of aftermarket loud exhaust, or to light the tires.

Daytime, on an empty street, at the track, on the highway..... those are acceptable. Not in a residential neighborhood in the middle of the night.
