I've got an 18 with 5K miles. We have winter where I live (not a bad one, but winter nontheless) and I have a Chevy truck as a DD. My car is for LS Fest, Camaro Fest, going to dinner, some Saturday night cruises, etc. I work a lot so it is what it is, I don't mind.

No explanation is necessary for what an owner chooses to do with his car.

Pretty much what everyone is saying, I live in Florida which guarantees rain every day. That coupled with it being one of 5 vehicles I basically use it to go out for a cruise, go to dinner, or take my boy to a show.

UPDATE*****

Turns out it was a faulty #2 lifter that was wearing on the cam. With that said local GM shop is working at swapping the cam and lifters out.

Better News- The squeaky wheel got some oil. I kept working my way up the service dept chain and convinced them to swap out the oil pump while they were in there. $190 for the part and 2 hours labor which I am more than willing to cover for some peace of mind. Told them I didnt want to be back in a year tearing it all down again to replace something I was adamant they needed to do.

Good to hear that they are going to take care of the oil pump while doing the other work!

For those who plan to mod, are any of you you considering the Katech higher pressure (truck) pump?

According to Katech you have to retune the ECU for higher pressure but seems like it might be a good idea to add some pressure.

Is that by chance one of the AFM lifters?

Glad to hear the dealer was willing to work with you.
