Had a C7 and now have a 2020 SS1LE and love it. In terms of pricing, yeah, inventory is tight. I was able to negotiate about $3500 off MSRP but it took some work ($1500 of that was the rebate). If you have not yet, look at the chevrolet.com website and then you can search on inventory near you for SS1LE. Also shows what is in transit. I would look out as far as you can, I ended up buying mine over the border in another state because local dealers just would not drop the price.

Still doing some mental math on what to get.
A few dealerships are budging a bit on 2020's as 2021's start rolling in but not many 1LE's out there. Considering a 2SS if the price is right. Even the 2019 1LE's seem more than a 2020 2SS but still the 2SS is just slightly above my budget. |

Have you driven a 2SS? If not try one out to see if it does it for you. I got the 2SS because of all the standard equipment. I got a Fifty Anniversary edition convertible so the dealer did not budge much from sticker but after driving it I was not leaving that dealership without the car. I was trading a 2004 C5 with Z06 shocks and sway bars M6 and it handled better than the 2SS but I just loved the sound and look for the Camaro better. The A8 has been a problem but the latest fluid change seems to have corrected the shutter issue. I would just say stay away from A8 and get either manual or A10 no matter what year or model.

If you're not going to track it, the extra $ towards the 1LE will be mostly for looks. You'll hardly notice anything on the street. I don't how deals are now but I got my 1SS A10 for $35K even and qualified for $2k Mustang rebate in addition to that. But I would have paid $35K regardless. Car is a steal for that price given the performance. 2SS was not an option for me as I hate leather.

Friend of mine was moving to the coast from the mountains and asked if I would store his C6 for a few months while he sold the house. The car had been setting for 6 months and he asked if I would drive it around and do a detail job on it. So I had the pleasure of jumping from my 2 SS Camaro in to his C6 with only 16,000 miles on it. I can tell you first hand you will not be disappointed with a Camaro SS or SS 1LE. Cornering and acceleration the Camaro will make you very happy. Having both to play with just confirmed I did the right thing for me moving from a Corvette to the SS.
FYI: The picture of Camaro SS and the Corvette setting in the Corvette Museum below is my SS and my buddies C6. Good luck with your search!

Get a 1LE and you probably won't miss much about the C6.
The problem with getting a "great deal" right now is inventory and demand. I work over in Dodge Land, so much of this might be theoretical, but this is what I'm seeing over here. The high end inventory of R/T, Scat Pack, and Hellcat is small right now. The Scat Packs we have coming that are in transit, Challenger and Charger, are pretty much all already spoken for. People are buying these before they even get off the truck. They are selling for full sticker minus rebate. I imagine the same is going on over in Chevy Land. We currently have a 2018 A8 1SS just traded on our lot, and it's getting a lot of attention. Mainly because finding a new SS, 1LE or anything with a V8 in dealer inventory is difficult. |

I only have an 18 but they're all basically the same. I don't see any issues with these cars despite my only owning mine since February. While the A10 is a nice trans, it isn't as fun and engaging IMO. If the money is an issue, stick with the M6. You won't regret it.

Buy Used!
If I were you, I would take a look at what's for sale on this forum. I searched and searched for a 1LE a year ago and bought one off the forum in excellent condition with thousands of dollars in extras at a price much better than anything on a lot and tons less than new. A low mileage Camaro6 car is probably the Best Buy on a great Camaro.
