Are there roller-tip rockers that might help, if this is indeed an issue?

Brett hasn't stated if it has anything to due with rocker ratio that I have seen. It seems that once the heads are fixed properly then the 1.8 rockers work fine. But I do see more aggressive builds now using TSP factory style roller tip rockers. So there is a limit for sure with lift and rpm where it's time to move away from a stock style slider tip.

It use to be said that factory rockers were good for up to .630-.650 lift before they start to side load the valve. Not sure if that rule still applies but I would think so. I know on LS a lot of cam companies started transitioning back to cam lifts around .600 instead of .630+ for better longevity at the expense of very little power on stock rocker arm builds.
