One question, if the doors are unlocked when the battery is disconnected, don't they remain unlocked?

Yes. The OP can just roll his windows down and open both doors, then disconnect the battery, and he’ll never have to worry about locking himself out.

The bottom pic. The black clip goes underneath the cover. Should not be showing on the outside. I had mine off once. I lined everything up and it clicked right back in place.

Tried the advice but didnt work. Took it to dealership no charge and they showed me what to do next time. I felt so dumb ^^;;
