I was actually thinking about selling and looking for a used 17 ZL1.. was wondering the same thing about value. i have a little over 14K miles on my 16 2ss 6m and a extra set of black powder coated stock wheels. But only an enthusiast would appreciate that.
I know a dealership wouldnt agree but i feel like on the private market somewhere around 30-32K is still fair for a low mileage 2SS with NPP and Nav. thats never been driven in the rain.Again not something the dealer cares about.

I picked a Charleston zip code, but it should generally represent your market area.

https://www.nadaguides.com/Cars/2017...-2SS-V8/Values

NADA is fairly accurate for a base line. I put in 30k miles for the value.

https://www.cars.com/for-sale/search...stkTypId=28881

This is a link for 2ss w/in 500 miles of 29401. CarGurus and Autotrader are also good. Forget TrueCar, it's joke.

I recommend going to the NADA guide and enter the options you are looking for. This one is with standard equipment.

Would you say 27k is a reasonable price for 2016 with 20k miles and all the bells and whistles or am I asking for an unrealistic price.

That price is a little high for a 2016 in my opinion. The car is 4 years old and soon to be 5 so I would keep looking and pass on it unless you just have to have it. Ultimately it’s your decision to make though.

Sadly that’s what I’ve been running into. The lowest I’ve seen a 2016 with 20k miles was $28,600. Some with more miles still run between high 28,000’s and high 29,000’s. Every dealership down here and 2 hours way hasn’t been even trying to negotiate. They’ve just been firm with their prices and I’m not 30k for car that’s about to be 5 years old. It’s just been hard trying to find something that doesn’t have 60k+ miles on it or even a dealership that’s willing to negotiate on 27k.

I understand what you are seeing in the prices. I found my used ZL1 on Cars.com in March 2019 at a Chevy dealership in Greer in your state because of the prices were higher closer to me and used ZL1s were far and few between.

I wouldn't mind traveling out of state for one, its just hard because military member are on a strict travel band for a very long time. So it just makes things harder.

They have a habit of trying to tell you what you are gonna pay them rather than what you are willing to pay. In your own opinion, what’s a responsible price to pay for 2016-2017 Camaro 2ss. Just trying to get a general idea of where a fair price is. What’s too much/too little in your opinion?
The problem is, there could be up to $5000+ in options on a 2SS, so if you’re looking at a fully optioned car, the price is going to be higher than what you think it should be, at least to other cars you see online. You have to compare apples to apples.
A 2SS is pretty nicely equipped in its base, but mag ride was $1700, dual mode exhaust $900, A8 $1500, Nav $500. Add any stripe package and that could be another $500. Minimum wheel upgrade $200. My ‘16 2SS vert was $55,545 MSRP new. I paid $33,500 for it in December, with 1880 miles on the odo. I’d say $20-22k less than original MSRP for a clean low mile car is probably about right. Maybe $25k less for a clean average mile car (10k miles/year for a Camaro, anything more is a DD IMO, and not what I’d want in a used specialty car)
NADA guides are what the banks use for loan purposes. NADA is usually less than KBB from my experience.

Good luck!

Most of the ones I’ve been looking at just have dual mode and a sun roof. I’m too big on having it fully equipped. I’ve just been running into a lot of dealerships who are selling the car like it fully equipped with things like ground effects, nav, brembo breaks ect. I’m just hopping that within the next coming 3 months, something will pop up and a dealer will be willing to take negotiate on some prices cause honesty at this point a lot of them are just selling them at the same prices as a brand new 1SS. It’s hard right now right, I’m just being patient and saving extra money is the mean time. Thanks for info!

Some dealers are con artists and mark up stuff 5-7000 over what they stole it for. That makes no matter to me, I too buy where I get the right deal after shopping similar cars. I usually buy new because used cars all have stories, crap wrong with them, and tough to find 2, much less more, than closely compare. On the flip side of dealers, MANY customers trade vehicles with known issues that aren't easily found on the quick dealer appraisal and quick run in and out of the service department. It's buyer beware on used cars IMO.
Delers can be ruthless using shiny objects to get the Lemmings over the cliff. And the long fake meetings with the sales manager with the salesperson "fighting" for thier customer. It is a buyers hell. No wonder why most hate
even stepping into a showroom.

Yes dealers are there for profit. And they sell cars to people who cannot afford the car they are buying. 72 month loans will come back to bite them as so many are upside down in thier cars. At some point now with the pandemic if the cure is a long time coming there will be tons of repossed cars.

But yes businesses have to make a profit, Agreed. It's the how many of them do it is the problem.
