For what it's worth, Concerning track brakes, I track my car monthly or more and have used Ferrodo which lasted fairly well about 6 days, Just switched to Cobalt Racing pads and they have really impressed me on how long they are lasting. I have 7 track days on them and the pads still have half left on them which has really been a surprise. Going to be hard to use anything else going forward.

I assume you ran the Ferodo DS 1.11 right? Can you tell me if you had severe rotor wear, or any caliper discoloration from these due to high heat?

I ran my DS 1.11 for 2 days at Buttonwillow and they were great, but relegated them to back-up duty and when I realized how good and cheap the stock Brembos are, and heard the DS 1.11 might overheat caliper paint.

I lived with Brown-bos for years on my Evo X and didnt want that with my beloved ZLE.

OEM pads are fine for the car. If you are going to do heavy track days, I recommend a track pad... I'm a G-Loc Brakes fan myself. They are extremely linear... and easy on rotors, with more ultimate bite and zero brake fade.

I run XP 8 on my car.

Best regards,
Dave

Thanks! Never heard of G-Loc before, quick research it seems like a slightly cheaper Carbotech. You run the R8 u mean? Which looks like same as XP8

My question to any of the guys who track is ZL1 is what are the preffered aftermarket brake pad options for the car and also rotors.

Always have wanted to drive Mosport. Who do you do the track days with?
