I submitted my rebate on the web site. A few days later I got a confirmation e-mail that the rebate was on the way.

I have not encountered this problem in a while, but it was a problem in the past. seems most vendors have updated their software.

as to why companies go the debit card route, it is probably because VISA gives them a deal realizing that a certain percentage of the card balances will never be used. I'm sure they know that number!
