Yes, this has happened...please everyone do what they determine to be "best". GM has logic of their own.

Yeah i read the same thing. I have a lifetime powertrain warranty and have no plans of adding anything that would void it. If something happens to it down the road because i didn't have one installed, then no biggie for me since it will always be under warranty.

What did that warranty cost?

I installed my Catch can myself, with a little bit of help from my neighbor. I'm no technician but with youtube and some confidence in your abilities, you can install a catch can.

If you can install it, you can also remove it. If your car has some sort of issue and you want to fall back on your warranty then remove the catch can before you bring the car to the dealership. You are not cutting or splicing into any wiring on the car, you are not changing the tune.

The only two things you have to do is cut one of the vacuum lines and place a T connection on it, and drill a hole into the plastic elbow that goes from the air cleaner to the throttle body.

Those two parts are very cheap to replace. Buy a spare set of those two and if you have to take your car to the dealership remove the catch can and replace the intake elbow and the vacuum line. Boom, your warranty worries have now melted.

By the way, some dealerships don't care about having a catch can on the car.

I hope you used new bolts between the super charger and the block because the bolts are TTY (tourque to yield) : one time use only.

yes sir, I did. I was worried about that very same thing.

The new bolts came with new gaskets as well for the supercharger lid.

Do you have the part number you used for this, by chance? Also, which catch can did you go with?

Thanks.

I used to own an Audi RS4, now THAT engine needs a better catch can system (the factory triple-venturi system does not work that well).

The LT4's really don't. The buildup seen on the back of the valves is going to be enough to where you'll want to media blast them around 75k miles whether or not you have a catch can. Not worth the money and headache or the warranty issue.

Didn't cost me anything. Dealership i went to provides them on every new car the sell. I also don't have to go back to that specific dealership for warranty claims. It's good at any GM dealership in the US and Canada. Unlimited years and unlimited miles, was well worth the 3hour drive to that dealership.

I don’t have the part number. I’ll check my basement for the box it came in. I kept some of the gaskets so the part numbers might be on the packages. I’ll get back to you.

I used the Elite catch can. Mounted it right behind the radiator where it gets fresh air. Easy peasey install.

What dealership was this? We used to have one in Homestead called Keith Pierson that offered that but I think they just got taken over by Bomnin and they don't offer that. i also had that with my Chevy SS when I bought it in North Carolina but I already sold that car. Wish I had that with the ZL1 but the price was too good to not jump on it.

Funny how Ford Performance sends the new owners of the all new GT500 catch cans too be installed AFTER delivery and yes it looks like an aftermarket catch can with Ford Perfomance name plate on it.
Either way the owner of the dealership I bought mine from races his ZL1 1LE and guaranteed me that he’s got my back as long as I don’t mess with the tune.

New Smyrna has that warranty. That might be the one they refer to. I purchased mine there. Good people it seems
