Michelins are good, Continental Extreme Contact Sport tires are good, and other major brands. Get on Tire Rack.com and check the tires they offer for your SS or even Discount Tires website. I know this may sound crazy to some folks here but I may go back with the GYs when I replace mine! After all that’s the tire that the engineers set the suspension for on the ZL1s! They don’t have a good treadwear rating(220) as they are a performance rated tire.

Michelin Pilot Sport 4S will probably be the best street summer tire you can get and will last longer than the OEMs. They also have a better tread pattern for wet driving, but - (a) you live in LA, and I can't imagine you're worried about a ton of rain/wet driving, and (b) very wide and slim profile tires like these generally do not have the same tread depth to handle dispersing a lot of water. So when you drive in the rain, just dial it down a bit.
That being said, your tires still look completely fine to me. The edges just show typical wear of a tire seeing high loads closer to the sidewall. Have you looked at the treadwear indicators along the center of the tire? I drive mine basically to the cords for track use

I would be a little concerned that the fronts are wearing quicker than the rear, it's typically the other way around.

Seems to me that the fronts are wearing more close to the edge because of turning. I would suggest getting a tire depth gauge and measuring all your tires in the center.

One thing to note, tread depth on the outer shoulder of the SC3 is shallow compared to the rest of the tire, so that area isn't always a good indicator that the tire is worn out.
These cars are pretty hard on the front tires. Replaced my fronts at about 8500 miles, kept the rears on as they still had life left in 'em.

Measure your tread depth. It is something one should do routinely, anyway. Example of a random tire tread depth gauge: https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/...4-8/11935569-p ![]() Here is a decent write-up on measuring tread depth: https://www.tireamerica.com/resource/tire-tread-depth

Looks to me like you may have overinflated the fronts based on the wear in the middle compared to the outsides. As someone else previously mentioned, the SC3s are thinner on the outside edges compared to the middle of the tire. In my case, I track my car a lot so the fronts lasted a little more than 3k miles before the edges gave up and began to cord. I am currently running `2.5deg negative camber up front, which is about as much as you can go without modification. As for replacement tires, if you plan to track your car I'd go with the OEM GY's, they are good tires, that can be sourced for a good price, and do hold up reasonably well given the low treadwear rating. Just my .02 so take it for what it's worth.

I'm having tire issues also. But they seem to be just the opposite as Greg0ry. I have Continentals and they have no traction on a WOT launch. Is there any tires out there that would give decent traction and some long term durability??

Change them...
Firehawk Indy 500 are solid tires for the money.
