I personally wouldn't want to deal with the complexity of a LT2. All you need to do is port the LT1 heads, ported MSD intake, and a nice mild cam and you will make another 150hp over stock. Or You can push further and move up to CID heads, ported Hi-ram, and a large cam which will make 200+hp over stock. Yes that is right, there are 700+hp NA LT1 engines out there.

I too will be ordering the LT2 engine and removing my LT1. Height makes no difference to me because I will be taking my lead from the Corvette engineers and will be removing my backseat and mounting my LT2 engine there. The current front engine location will be gutted and turned into a frunk.

You could probably pick up the 45 horses by letting the LT1 drink likker. A LT2 is an awful lot of work for no real gains....

Hmmmm, I like your Idea. I will also follow your lead and put the LT2 in the rear section but I will keep my LT1 up front and installing AWD. I dub my engine the LT3.

Basically easy to do on a LT1, improve your exhaust flow with headers and free flowing exhaust. Pop on a better intake manifold with TB, and change your cam so your exhaust lobes are higher. Your engine will breath better and produce more HP and some torque. Chose a better cam then what GM offers and then you have a better engine then the LT2.
This ^ I think you can do it without a Cam. My SS was a bit more than that with E85, a CAI, ported MSD, a tune, and LTs. Those mods make a very noticable jump, but the LTs ruin the sound. It's a shame there is a 2" restriction in the stock exhaust.

probably would be only a little more to buy the C8 it comes wrapped in,and the jonses would have no doubt who the winner was then.

Also is it the same displacement? If so then a simple heads and cam swap and Mr.Jones will be eating LT1 dust.

I do have to admit though the C8 is quite revolutionary and down right intimidating on paper. Its kind of in its own league.
Taller intake manifold makes the package taller.
