You'll want to gradually pick up your pace over the first two or three laps. I'm sure that's somewhat track length/technicality-specific.

Appreciate the responses.
Unfortunately, all for naught. The Ring was iced over in the tree shadow/low lying areas...didn't open for laps today during my visit. Nice 6 hour drive around Germany though! Think the season is done...may be time to add some HP for next year. ![]()

For the record, I did a track day last year in the 30s. Went slow at first gradually building up heat in everything. By last 7 was within 2 seconds of my best time. However, the track I was on doesn't have very long or high speed straights unlike the ring.
