Did you download the app that lets you check on the car? You can see the location, lock/unlock the doors, etc.

The thing is linked to your OnStar subscription, first 12 months is free with full functionality if I remember correctly, after that you only have a "basic" subscription for 4 more years (unless you cough up some $$$ each month) and it doesn't include much unfortunately.

Normally, you see the enabled features with some meaningful text, while the ones you aren't subscribed to are marked with "Upgrade Now". If your parked location doesn't show, enable location services on your phone, then scroll down to the bottom to see the vehicle locate function; if it doesn't show at all, edit the dashboard with the "Edit Dashboard" button to add it.

(This is all for the Android version, I don't know about the iPhone counterpart, never used it.)

Ok, I might need a step by step on this, anyone?

LOL I would help but I do not remember how to do it. It was almost 3 years ago for me.

No, the 2017 car I never got was from a local dealer (NY). The 2020 car is from a dealer in Tucson, AZ.

Not yet. I have the onstar app on my phone for my truck and I was hoping I could just add the Camaro when I pick it up.

Sure, let me try to help, although I can't repeat these steps exactly, since the app is already installed and operational on my phone.

1. Download and install the myChevrolet app

2. Enter your VIN and press Select in the vehicle list that is displayed (optional, may not show if you have only 1 GM vehicle set up)

3. At this point you should see the main screen that looks similar to my first screenshot above

4. Scroll down in the list of panels under the bowtie image and your car's year/model until you see "Parked Location", this is where OnStar believes your car is physically located at

- If this panel never shows up, scroll down until you see the "Vehicle Locate" panel
- If the "Vehicle Locate" panel never shows up, tap "Edit Dashboard", scroll to the bottom of the list and tap the checkmark next to "Vehicle Locate", then tap the 'back' icon in the upper left corner
- If the "Vehicle Locate" panel says "Share Location", pull down the Android notification bar from the top, tap Location and wait until you see the map pin turn blue, then tap back to the app's screen

5. Tap on the "Vehicle Locate" button, OnStar will find your car, the app will display it on a map and print out its location

Apart from this, the most useful features of the app in my opinion are "Remote Commands" that allows you to lock/unlock doors, start/stop the engine, and activate the horn+lights remotely, "Vehicle Status" that display fuel level in gallons, remaining range in miles, tire pressures, oil life, mpg statistics and odometers, and "Owner Manual" that displays an annotated, searchable and hyperlinked version of the owner's manual.

Did this help? If not, where did you get stuck?

I put in my VIN to activate OnStar but it said I can't do it online. Guessing because the vehicle hasn't been delivered yet?

I think you are right about OnStar that you won’t be able to set up the app because the paperwork hasn’t been done yet and you haven’t taken possession of the car!
