Yah, N/A, to a point, the 5.0 is a bit quicker and boost, it certainly has an advantage. All out N/A goes to the LT1 I believe, if thats your cup. But, and I cant belieive I'm saying this, that is just one aspect of the car. And while full throttle runs are great, they represent a smaller spectrum of the overall use of the car...at least for a decent percentage of us. This is where Camaro just comes across as a more capable, well rounded car. A million little things that add up to a more engaging car to drive.

Man, that thing is a dog. Much slower than your SS, even with 480 it is no match in manual form to any SS.

I didn't want to spend 2SS $ either... the only thing that bugged me was the knee pads, got a set of leather wrapped ones in the classifieds here for $175.

That and a blendmount/mirror tap for the radar detector and I'm fine with the interior.

The manual dimming mirror is kind of ridiculous though.

Fellow 1LE owner and mustang convert. Got my ZLE after Ford bought back my ‘17 GT (lemon law). I’ve had 5 GTs and 3 cobras, my current ride is my favorite (still wish I would have kept the ‘93 cobra).

I'm the same as well. Had a 16 mustang GT and enjoyed it, but spent way too much money trying to fix all the areas ford decided to go cheap on and it still wasn't as good of a car as my base 19 1SS is, which should be saying a lot considering my GT was a fully loaded California Special... Hands down the camaro is much nicer to daily drive.

Never owned a Mustang, but I have always admired their front end design over the years as I'm pulling away....

Glad you enjoy the ride!

I've had three Mustangs... '06 V6, '14 V6 PP, and a '17 GT. I had the GT for about two years, and in that time I had nearly a full page of maintenance and repair entries on my maintenance log. The A/C refrigerant leak was the last straw - fought that 5 months, and was afraid it would end up being the dreaded evaporator leak. Had a bad experience with the dealer trying to fix it, and decided that when I got it back, it would be traded off ASAP. With the issues that were cropping up w/ the Gen 3 Coyote and updated MT-82, another Mustang wasn't an option.

I debated about trading for a Camaro, Corvette, Challenger, or even a CPO 718 Porsche. My wife pointed out that my Chevrolet pickup was now 10 years old, and had given me very few problems - she is a very wise lady! After sitting in both a Camaro and Corvette, we decided the Camaro was slightly more comfortable, and soon traded for a leftover 2018 2SS.

And I've been very impressed by the Camaro. The low-end torque is quite addictive after driving the 5.0, and the Tremec is a better shifting transmission out of the box. I love the looks of the '18 front end, and the dual-mode exhaust is a nice touch.

Glad to see some other former Mustang owners here...

My wife likes the seating position and comfort plus ingress on the Camaro vs the Vettes I’ve owned. Much more livable car even as a weekend driver.

Sounds like we made the right decision; that was our impression as well. The Camaro is our road trip car, so my wife's comfort was an important consideration in picking the Mustang's replacement.

It's such a great car for the highway, it seems to get better fuel economy the faster you go!

----

Ford folks seem to have lots of issues with their Mustangs and RS Foci... but one guy had a modded RS that was a monster for AutoX, darn close to some purpose built autox cars. RS and GT350s are nice cars, it just doesn't seem like Ford can get anything right as far as reliability these days. My last car was a Subaru STi and it just doesn't inspire confidence either, which ruins the experience for me. The Camaro feels like it'll hold together and I appreciate the warranty that covers track use.

Ya great road trip car for two. Rides better than a vette too.
I personally liked a vette as a road trip car but my wife did not.
It’s a bit like a race car sitting position is so low and seats are set back the side visibility isn’t that great. Doesn’t matter as the driver so much. But she disliked the vette and loves riding in the Camaro.
The 6th gen SS is so good I prefer driving it to a C6. Chassis feels more connected and tight and the steering and braking are better. And the motor is fantastic.
Not that a LS3 is all that different. LT1 has a flatter tq curve.

Not in any measurable way. Differences are going to be more in the wheels and chassis weight IMO. LS3 was a great engine, same flat torque curve and massive torque at low RPM. Not much different than the LT1.
