Since you don't get it, let me try to make it more simple for you.

Mine also looked a little worn when I opened the box. The accelerator pedal was shiny and flawless in contrast.

It was nowhere as bad as yours, however, and looked quite okay after some TLC, so I never thought twice about it after installation.
