I'm using Chemical Guys Butter Wet Wax. Best delivered price I found for many of their products is on Amazon.

Can I tell you how much I hate black plastic trim? Good thing I only do this 2X a year. Here's a few shots of taping off. Grrr

I've never waxed mine and I never will. In fact I will never use paste wax on any of my vehicles again - too much work - too hard to keep the wax off the plastic trim and out of the panel seams.

I'm using Black Fire SiO2 spray on sealant. It is so much better than paste wax for ease of use, clean up and most importantly protection. Nothing has ever beaded water for me like this stuff.

also wax breaks down in the heat
definitely a thing of the past, even some combo polymer wax is a waste in high heat
either full synthetic of ceramic or apply wax to top surfaces every week

I recommend trying a different wax, such as Pinnacle Souvren, you dont have to worry about getting wax on the black plastic as it doesnt stain it. There are others as well. Also, based on your pics, you're a bit heavy on the application. TO each their own, just saying it may be a part of some fustration when waxing.

i’ve never waxed mine. clay bar, buff and then ceramic coat. water doesn’t even get a chance to bead up, it just rolls off.

I'm using the same Meguiar's Ultimate Liquid wax. I like it. It's the successor to their NXT Tech Wax. I do it twice per year - 3-4 months apart - and store it for the winter.

But yes, it seems wax, even polymer type, is old school with the SiO2 sealers out there. I was at the Barrett Jackson auto auction earlier today at the Mohegan Sun Casino in CT, and was talking to a rep in the Meguiar's tent about the new Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic wax. Cheaper than the Ultimate wax actually. He stressed that with the hybrid ceramic, a little goes a long way. And oddly, you apply it after washing the car, while the car is still wet! But according to him, super easy to apply and wipe off. He said you can even put it on top of the Ultimate wax and it would bond and seal the wax to make it last longer.

I rarely wash my car but I always keep it clean with this speed detail. I do have a garage, so it never sees rain really. I've had really good luck with this stuff. This keeps it shiny!

Hey, just FYI, absolutely NO reason to tape off the plastic trim. Ultimate Liquid wax has ZERO wax in it, it is a 100% polymer sealant that will actually darken and protect your plastic and rubber as long as you wipe it off.

They call it that for the avg consumer that doesn't follow the market. Just a marketing name.

Carpro Hydro2 Foam diluted 10:1 in a spray bottle or used in foam cannon.

Years of ceramic coating for ~$25.

The first thing I did when I got the car was pay a pro to do a polish, I applied PPF myself and then a paint sealer. Then I've been using the Hydro2 Foam. It's so easy to use, seems to both look and perform better vs any wax I've ever used.

I think Meguiars Ultimate doesn’t stain black trim. I love that wax. I use that and Jet Seal in the winter, and in the summer I use CG Butter Wet Wax.
I usually wax every month.

This.
I have some paste wax that I use on my dd (not camaro), and when I’m done with that, I will look for something affordable and easy to apply. The car is in a garage so I don’t need anything fancy.
