The sound you were hearing could have been eliminated by using the throttle body spacer that was provided with the intake kit.

Glad it's working for you. That spacer is too small to make much difference in the intake volume, so pretty sure it wouldn't have changed the sound or throttle response much. It had a small lag with the sound so it felt like it was lean off idle, which is common with these type intakes. A tune might have helped, but couldn't see the expense for a few more horses. Enjoy!
