Driving it around is a different experience entirely, I have had more people stop and ask questions about the car, turn heads, and thumbs up on the road than in any other car I have ever been in. I like to skate under the radar unnoticed but this is a different experience. Anyone else have anything like this happen to them?
Congrats on the car! I'm sure you'll love it.

But if skating under the radar was one of your goals, you had to know before buying it that this car would not go unnoticed.

Even though it's not a 1LE, at first glance it fooled me. My 1LE is plain everyday white, and it most certainly does NOT fly under the radar. My previous car, a really nice and sporty BMW M235i, completely flew under the weather. Most non-car folks just looked at it as another Bimmer, and in my area, that means they are a dime a dozen. The white 1LE, on the other hand, turns heads and starts conversations every time I take it out. And mine is White... The Crush color takes the attention to another level.

Get used to it and embrace it.

I was nervous about Crush. Like you, I love the color but have always gone with black, gray... Never owned red and done like yellow ..but dam, I love Crush.

Funny story. I started out shopping for a C7 Grandsport 1LT in Sebring Orange, almost bought from Tommy at MacMulkin. Sat in a base C7 at Vandergriff with a buddy of mine, I could barely fit, felt clautrophobic. I'm 190lbs 5'11" trying to bulk up to 210-220 over the next few years. So C7 was out of the equation. Wanted a ZL1 but with doing my Master's right now and working full time, wouldn't be able to enjoy the car fully. So the next option was a 1le but driving a manual in Dallas during traffic times on highway 30 did not seem like like a ideal situation for me especially after working 12 hours in the hospital. Didn't care for leather seats on the 2SS and ended up getting the 1LE look alike 1SS with a 10 speed auto couldn't be happier.

Congrats on the sweet ridel! Being that you already stand out I would go for black wheels and a black fuel door.

Funny you mention that. Phastek has the black fuel door back in stock. I placed the order early this morning once I got my check As for wheels the dealer said they would powder coat them for 1grand. I would rather use that money to look at aftermarket see what I like and go from there

That looks super sick! Question I have seen people's plasti dip chip over time and it didn't look as amazing anymore. Have you noticed any chipping? How many coats did you use?

That's funny, we have similar taste. Great combo, Crush and black.

Wait, why is the hood black? The black package says its only for mirrors and spoiler? That looks so good!

To be honest I have no idea why the hood is black. My best guess is someone at the factory thought the car was a 1LE and just put the black hood on. I know for sure its not a 1LE. Tried to build one on the Chevy site and the hood didn't turn black when I selected the black out option. The closest thing I could get to on the build site was one with a silver accent on the hood. Either way I love the car the way it is. Definitely one of the best decisions I have ever made.
