i'd go through the insurance dude. unless you got money to throw at the repairs. who cares about the car fax.
your insurance will probably go up. you can always shop around or make your deductible higher in order to lower your premium. I switched to a $2,000 premium after my accident last year and that lowered my premium back to what it was before the accident occurred. think about it, $500 premiums are for people that don't care enough to deal with cars or car repairs. we are not that kind of people, don't feel bad raising your deductible.

Same thing happened to me in the rain. Claim it with insurance. The original estimate 10K, for front fascia, hood and 2 front fenders headlights etc... After the shop estimator looked at, insurance decided to total loss the car. I didn't impact hard enough for the airbags to deploy.
Accident forgiveness definitely worth the extra dollar a month. |

Well Insurance I do have...... Im not that unwise......I was more weighing the option of coming out of pocket possibly 10k vs what the premium hike + loss of value on the car due to a non clean carfax...
Im waiting for my agent to confirm but my hope is that this is a no fault due to weather and it will be looked at differently than if I had been negligent in some way. |
