definitely check the GM service history (get the vin, ask the service department at an actual GM dealer to run it), and do a very extended test drive, possibly on different days in varying conditions. Pay very close attention to the feel of the car. Worst case scenario is that it has the A8 shudder, and that currently is not a fixable problem.

Yes, there are a million possibilities and this is definitely one of them. I got rid of a BMW with less than 10K miles for no other reason than I was bored with it. I never had a single issue with it and treated it like a baby. The subsequent owner got a GEM!

If the Carfax is clean, that's a great sign. If not, it would really have to be a super deal.
