Hi ram works best with a huge cam. Look up Brandon Hills car. SBE LT1 with Hi-ram, new designed Track cam, CID heads,... Went 9.6 @ 139. And a 3600 stall won't be enough.

Yah I have met Brandon a few times at the track. Meannnn car he has.

36-3800 isn't enough? Can you explain why? Like I won't be able to leave hard enough or? Pretty new to the torque converter world.

I agree. But he told me the hi ram suffers from heat soak. Has to ice it between runs. The hi ram really gonna suffer on the street. Would it still make more heat soaked up top than a ported msd? Probably. But be a good comparison.

Such an interesting conversation.

The 3C will not be near big enough. If you aren't willing to flycut and add the rest of the needed mods then don't waste your time.

I just went 9.95 cam only with our no fly cut cam with my ported MSD.

For track use, do you feel like running SD with no hood or CAI attached?

Well I am assuming if you are going through the effort of installing a big cam then You want to optimize the combination as a whole or you are wasting the potential of the cam. 3600 stall likely won't flash high enough and offer enough shift extension to keep the engine up in the peak of it's power range. Not saying it won't work but again we are talking what is optimal. You Likely will need a 4400 stall and plan on 7500rpm shifts.

Brandon has a 5,500-6K stall. Don't be fooled.

Man I waited so long for this converter to come in and I ended up with the wrong one. Not sure if I should try to exchange it or what. Thoughts?

I talked to him over a year ago when my car was stock. Thanks for adding value to the conversation.

No hood is tough lol. Idk about that man. The car will have to go mid 9's to compete in November. Does circle D even make a 5500 stall? The highest I saw when I was picking was like a 4400 I believe.

I think Circle D will restall it for you for a small fee. I wouldn't want to go any higher for a street car than the stall I have in mine but you might not care.

Just got off the phone with Phastek. I can exchange the converter. Can someone tell me which converter to get? 4C with a 6k stall? So confused.

Depends on which cam you go with. Have you decided which cam you are doing yet? You could do like I did and just have Pray spec your cam and converter for you.

Spec the entire combo through 1 vendor is your best bet. Either Pray or GPI gets my vote
