Yeah, I think they will price it just above the ZL1 Camaro.

As far as look? It just doesn't look like a Corvette anymore. I would have guessed McLaren.

I hope they got the frame bending problems fixed, I assume they did. The C8 will turn the world on its ear. A mid-engine finally from America. The Italians are looking and waiting and hoping that Chevy doesn't show up at the race track, oops too late. Chevy has the C8.R already and being tested.

It will have to start in the low to mid 60sK ,Corvettes are similar to Camaro sales they survive in the base market . No one has said yet that the LT2 will be the base motor.

The base Corvette has always been cheaper than the ZL1. So not sure why this would be a big deal now other than a new Corvette model is coming out.

Really at the end of the day the Camaro base model has been the high volume mover. The SS,1LE and ZL1 were lower production cars in the lineup so I don't really see a big drop or change in Camaro sales with a $60,000.00 Corvette coming out. JMHO

I've read several magazine articles about the new Corvette and most are speculating that the car will go up about $3,000.00 to $5,000.00 from what the current lineup is now. That would put the base model around $60,000.00

What are the chances it gets a manual? At any point of it's mid engine life.

This right here!!! If the base models are too expensive they will effectively price out half of their customers (maybe even me lol). I fully expect the base model to be right at $65k with either the "LT2" or a TT V6, with either right around 500hp.

The article I read said the base C8 will be $5,000 more than the current stingray. So around 60k I would guess.

C8 pricing hasn't been announced. Everything that you see with a price at this point is pure speculation.

Yes, but in the Dec ’18/Jan ’19 issue of Road and Track, Bob Lutz says that “the goal is to sell the C8, version for version, at a little more than the C7.”

He went on to speculate that the new C8 will be about $5000 more model for model than the C7. He WAS speculating because he wasn't in the loop a the time, but I trust his speculation more than anyone else.

In other words, I wouldn't worry too much about the price increasing by a large amount, like some others are speculating...

Lutz hasn't been with GM for almost 10 years. IMO, Lutz is using his knowledge of C7 and the fact that C7 started development as mid engine. Until GM announces it, everything regarding price is speculation though.

I am a believer that it will not be much more than the current model and I've been saying that for a long time. I don't know for sure though.

My guess is that it will be somewhere between $65k and $70k. A base A8 C7 is $58,995 right now. $10k more than that would not be a shock to me.

I agree, but I think $10k more would be a little high. I am sure that Chevy knows they are taking a big risk changing the Covette formula by going mid-engine. I am sure there are folks that will not buy it just for that. Then, rumors are that it will not have a manual trans available (at least to start), which will chase a few more potential buyers away. If they add a high price, they might chase the rest of the potential customers away...

So, MY speculation is pretty much the same as Lutz's. Just a few thousand more model per model.

That's old news and has noting to do with the base model, it was the high HP model cars with that problem, and before that, it was melting the heads off the motor, but its been over 2 years for that problem.
