$59k for a new 18 1LE is a steal with no trade involved. Haven’t seen any real #’s like that. Really would have to know the total $’s you have in the Vette, what the payoff is and what they are going to give you for trade. Without knowing all the figures it’s difficult to say if it really is the deal it sounds like.

That said, ZL1’s are awesome, 1LE looks even better so just do it!

Done deal! $52k on trade 17 GS 1LT. I think it’s a good deal.

I’m going to miss my 2.24% interest rate on the C7.

Beautiful boy! Doomed (as all of us) to be another machine head. Just as father's sons, are as apples to the tree. Destined to never fall far.

2000 miles on a ZLE may alter your predisposed ideas on a lot of things. If I may, I suggest that you drive the car for a while before deciding on mods.

FWIW, if you are not DDing or driving in the rain and/or cold, perhaps when you get a taste of the sticky AND unrelenting nature those 3Rs you may find that GYs are an exceptional performance value. As you are probably aware; A) engineered exclusively for the suspension and weight of this specific car; B) GYs first R compound, street legal tire; C) GYs racing heritage and the fact that they are made in the USA;. 100 UTQG be damned... these shoes and their street legal sticky magic, work very, very well with this car.

Pops (my Grandfather) told me when I was a young boy (I had no idea what the heck he was talking about at the time), If you are worried about the price of high test (his words, you guys know what it means*) oil or tires, don't ever buy a HP car. 3Rs seem to be a worthwhile and reasonable HP investment to me.

Many have complained about the ride of this car. IMHO, the grip and ability of this car to instantaneously settle (even with limited or no nannies), especially at this price point is unsurpassed. Although I wouldn't recommend as a DD (there are some tough, hard a** SOBs out there who can handle), ZLE is an amazing car. It will fill up your guts and likely take seconds off of your lap times. ZLE is one of the finest production performance automobiles that I have ever driven, and without question, the best performance car that I have ever owned.

My apologies for the rant. I digress.

Enjoy your new ride, and time shared with your boy. They really do grow up really fast.

*Anybody remember 101+ octane Sunoco 260 pump gas for $0.75/gal in the late 70s? Or driving to the air park before track days to get 110 octane aviation gas for $0.95?

Thanks for the post! He’s got the bug and already helps me lose tools in the garage

Not my daily driver, living in WI that’s not really an option for me. The ZLE is the weekend fun summer ride and track toy. The GY tires I would keep for the track but as you stated I might use them a bit to find out. I have some time before snow is gone:(

I do want the sound track though! Thinking AWE cat back non resonated touring with black tips.

Oh man that little guy is in for some fun rides.
Congrats on the purchase.
I can’t wait till mine is built. I have a 9 year old boy and 11 year old girl. Unfortunately my ex wife thought it would be a good idea to ask me to leave. It was truly a devastating time for me and the kids. I have always been a car guy on top of the fact I’m a mechanic.
The kids grow fast. Really fast. I can’t wait to see their faces when the car arrives.
We often watch the reviews on YouTube. It’s going to be awesome.
I just pray I keep it on it’s tires. I tend to be nuts behind the wheel.

BC forged RZ05 Brushed Bronze in same size and stock (19f 20r)as Z06/GS with same stock Michelin run flats only 1k miles. Have someone interested from Texas already let me know if you want pictures. I may order the same wheels in 19" for the ZLE.
