Sure a serious high speed collision with a drift and inverted roll flight...
Even if the cabin looks not to bad and airbags deployed,
They report seriously injured :-(

Crazy to think the article said they were on a test drive. I find that hard to believe but ok.

At least they are ok and everyone else.

Parts of the Autobahn has no speed limit but as I've driven over there recently for about 3 months, I can say, you will have drivers that don't look in their mirrors before going into the left lane.

It IS German law to stay right. Though you will have people staying left when they are traveling at a high rate of speed, though I don't know the entire highway law other than to stay right and to check you mirrors before merging into the left most lane. I had 2 or 3 instances where someone would get into the left lane when I was going 120mph while they were doing maybe 90 mph. And they did it when I was a couple of hundred of feet from them.

Either way, glad to see everyone is ok but 1 less ZL1 1LE and crazy to think it costs of 100k Euro (115k USD) over there.

By the time you add 20% VAT ,or even more, depending.on Country+ 10% import duty+ importer mark up, this is what you are going to pay for a new 1LE landed and registered in Europe.
If you buy used at let's say 65K USD, you are looking at 85800 USD+transport, registration etc...
This in the UK where duty is 10% ( EU rules) and VAT is 20%.
And you pay VAT on top of DUTY too...
And transport is subject to duty ans VAT too...

I was aware of that as I have purchased items from the EU. Sounds like the EU rules are good for the EU...not necessarily the people. I wonder what our economy would be like if we had the same charges in the US. Would we have as many import vehicles?

Probably personnal test drive
Not the one from the dealer (I hope)
Yes taxes kill us in EU
Worst in France
I paid my ZL1 65k new with all US taxes,
The ones they will import in EU are between 110-120k€ (130000$)
Just twice the price!!!!!

Then those countries are still lucky bc in The Netherlands this car would cost 220.000 euro's so that in $$ is triple the USA price

Gladly I moved from there 5 years ago.

Well, I’ve paid for my 2018 ZL1 with 1608 miles in Texas 60500$.

He has arrived to Spain August 7th, and I’ve paid:

- Tow to Houston.

- Customs papers.

- Vessel to Rotterdam.

- DUA (customs taxes, 10% from bill).

- Tow to Spain.

- Registration (14,75% from bill).

- VAT (21% from bill).

- Few minimal taxes (less than 300€).

Finally my bill has been less than 85k€, so I don’t understand how in France can up to 120k€ or more in the Netherlands...
