I was curious if the mode selection button in the Camaro dictated something similar to the SRT button on the Dodge. Reading that the A10 didn't perform to its fullest in touring mode I was curious if the engine did not either. Last edited by Snakebt6; 08-15-2018 at 10:25 AM. |

Yes and traction control kicks in with the least bit of spin in Sport 1. If you're going to use a PTM, use Race. I'm not sure what the best setting will be for the power you're making. Stock, I'd say turn it all off or double tap in Sport, which is basically the same thing. TC may be beneficial for your power on the street. If you want to use traction control, then just put it in Sport or Track and that's it. If not, just hit the traction control button once in either Sport or Track. Then TC will be off and stability control will still be there, but if you get just a little too sideways, it will completely cut power to straighten you out.

Put it in Track mode.
Double tap the Traction Control button which puts you in Performance Traction Management menu. Select "Race" mode. That gives you full engine power. Page 30 of the High Performance Owner's Manual Supplement.

It still cuts power in that mode when it detects any slip. Doesn’t seem to be the best for drag racing.

Full power is there in Tour, Sport, and Track also. It's only when you go into PTM inside of Track, that power/throttle response is reduced, unless you put it in Race. Even in Race I think it still reduces throttle if you have the steering cut to a certain degree.

It's been so long since I've had my car in PTM, I can't remember if it cuts power from wheel spin if not using launch control, but it definitely does if you do use launch control. It will also definitely cut power if the car gets too sideways as stability control kicks in.

Track mode + PTM in Race mode = full engine power and no stabiliTrak.
Not just in the manual, that's how it really works. Unfortunately....I know this to be true given a couple of off track excursions in Race mode. It will not reduce power to save you....and there is no TC or StabiliTrak. I was not aware that you could also get there with double tap in Tour or Sport mode as well. Never use those modes but good to know.

Track mode has a noticeably lazier throttle when driving on the street. I leave mine in sport mode for daily duty. I put the car into Tour if I am on long highway drives or really bumpy / rough stretches of road. Track mode is too harsh for highway driving for me.

Well, I have no slippage as I race on a roll and I'm on DR's so. I need full max power!!!!!!!!! I usually just double tap, take all nannies off and go at it. Track mode to tighten up steering just a bit. I usually do Track, then Race 1. There are so many modes, it's confusing. I can understand the modes for a track rat, but I'm strictly straight line roll racing. No dig.

Haha, i know. It should just say............. If you want to haul ass..............do this. If you want nannies to help..........do this. There shouldn't be like 10 fkn modes. We need just fast or slower.

Yes, this is a bit confusing. Any PTM mode will adjust power from the electronically controlled rear diff. There's only 2 ways around this: 1) Competitive Driving Mode; or 2) Everything off. Turning everything off takes too long as you need to hold down the button for what seems like an eternity. Competitive driving mode is easier to get into. Either go to Sport and hit TC button twice, or go into Track mode and hit TC button once.

By the way, I have a ZL1 1LE with about 900rwhp. In Track PTM Race it definitely cuts power on me when I'm in the canyons. In competitive driving mode there's a huge difference. I've documented this, and so has my tuner.
