I only buy used cars, and they typically feel a bit weird acceleration-wise until I've owned it a couple weeks. Maybe it's a placebo effect.

I'm just going to say the fuel again i feel 100% is the issue. These LT1's can take a beating let alone some aggressive driving without causing to make it feel any slower. If anything these cars open up in time putting mileage on them but when you mix the cheapest 87 octane gas you can find and put it through a motor rated for high octane then i can see this causing it to either ride rougher or "feel" slower like it lost some pep.
I am actually going down to Florida this weekend and have reserved "what budget calls a Ford Mustang or Similar car" Usually they have a Camaro RS or Mustang Eco. I sometimes give them the BS line like, last time i rented a Camaro SS you gave me a RS V6, then they upgrade me for free to a SS or GT if they are available. The Dodge challengers mainly R/T's are ok but got tired of them in the past. Still like the RS Camaro as a rental and satisfied on low rate of 171$ for the week prepaid and coded out of course hehe! P.S - Use Retailmeornot.com coupon website (if you havent already) for any car rental companies discount codes and save a good amount of $$$~ |

They as well as renters fill it with the cheapest gas/Lowtest gas as opposed to what it calls for/premium. The computer will eventually dial back the performance to avoid pinging. Plus it probably an automatic, they feel slower around town unless you step into where it requires quick shifting at least that been my experience.

Ok, I’m sure this rental was just as quick as any other stock SS. I made a joke based on how slow it feels compared to my modified car. That’s is all it was if you read the rest of this post.

Just drive around the block and disconnect the battery for a few minutes to reset the CPU to your driving style.
