What I like about Pray's ported stock, there is still turbulence induced via the port which should help with combustion, MPG, part throttle tip in and a strong midrange, especially under: cam with close lobe centers, or for FI.

I still like the Edelbrock setup for the strip, large straight ports; but for street, both for close lobe center NA and FI, it would be hard to be Pray's ported setup..

For a prepped Jr head, I would think you would be looking at a mid 23X grind on 110 centers or tighter.

I hate GM's exhaust port on this head as well. My LS2/3/7 exhaust ports flow about 20cfm more. But the intake port is no joke. Especially for how small the valve is. I focus on all the stuff around the flow numbers to make a very efficient and effective head. My H/C cars get stock fuel mileage if that tells you anything. And I mainly use 111 lobe seps.

I am sure a well prepped E head will out do a stock ported head at some point for some combo's. But at what cost? Now if the head is a 280cc runner or something like that with those numbers I will be impressed for sure.

I am dying to pop a 2.200" valve in a stock head but I can't find one that fits yet. I would bet dollars to doughnuts I would crack 400cfm with that valve in a stock head. Shoot, a 2.165" valve will fit on the stock seat but I can't seem to find one to fit either yet.

I guess for me things boil down to dollars and cents. The dollars need to make sense.

2.200 valve in a stock bore wont benefit anything on a stock casting regardless of what it flows. Its been done before. Now on a bigger bore itll help. Still waiting on tsp or these vic jr heads..hopefully they shifted things over

I would have to try it for myself and see.

Are you saying a 2.200" valve won't work in the stock bore with any head or just the stocker.

After Camaro Fest I won't be on a stock bore any more.

just a stocker. It will fit in a stock bore but theres no benefit with the valve being so shrouded up..bigger bore would definately help.

I dont think cid altered their valve locations either but i could be wrong.
