You wont see 91 at 87 oct prices... all you will see is 91 and up pricing

Keep in mind that CA only has 91 as it's highest and all cars seem to be running fine that "require" 93. Don't be surprised one day if other states follow suit. I sure hope not and I long for the day CA actually offers a better grade gas but I am not holding my breath.

Just to give you a feel-good about not living here point of reference I just paid $4.05 a gallon for 91. I think the comment about 91 will be the new low price but I could see a push for the govt to offer 1 grade for simplicity purposes.

That doesn't work in the northern states. We have summer and winter blends in gasoline, as well as in diesel for non gelling purposes. We will always have different blends here as long as we have weather extremes. So it is not a big deal to offer another grade or two. Although ultimately I can see them deleting mid grade and just offering premium (hopefully 95-100) and regular, whatever grade that be.
