I'll for sure stick with manual on anything I buy going forward after this on anything I buy.

If I were you I'd get the SS with M/T- has much more power than the V6, same if not better MPG and better resale value.
I have my 15 C7 for that, also the 6th gen v6 manual is more than just fun to drive, it handles and brakes great being only 3450lbs and have no problem driving it as my daily driver in Connecticut all winter. . The SS wouldn't be as good.

Anyone know if the Manual 6 cyl has the funky lifters that the AFM cars require?? since there is no AFM ? That is another (minor) area of issue with the LT1.

Son has only had his '17 RS V6, A8 since 9/30/17, and if it has shifted down to 4 cylinders, I have never noticed it. He still has less than 2K miles on it. Heck, I didn't even know it had this feature until I read the owners manual. Question: We didn't get it because of extra cost, but does having NPP exhaust increase the cost of your insurance?

No....why would you think it Would? It’s just diff noise, not power....

Insurance agent used the VIN# to give me my rate. I thought NPP might give more HP to the 335 HP V6.

Has no affect whatsoever on insurance.

All is pretty well with the six gen V6's...it's the six gen v8's that are going through engines, transmissions and rear ends.

My 2015 base stingray 7 speed manual has been perfect.

No problem other than a not always smooth shift from park to reverse but only on a slight incline, I have little over 4k miles.

If you are going to by a 6th gen Camaro V6 or V8 or even a C7, it seems there are virtually no problems reported with the manual transmissions so get the manual and not the A8. Not all the A8's seems to be bad though, or the owners perhaps may not notice the shudder or the torque converter not locking up. Still it is a crap shoot if you opt for the A8 whether or not you get a good one.

Problems left unresolved: v4 shake while in v4 mode and light on throttle, still have odd shifting behaviour though it has become better (feels like the car labors between gears, but it shifts smooth 90% of the time now. Car thunks into and out of reverse.

One more annoying new one: car won’t shift into gear 2 fast enough after redline, resulting in lower 0-60 speeds than advertised, and also you hear the car not go “vrrrroooom, shift-pew, vroooom”. Instead, you hear the engine rev neutral and then get into gear. Almost like it has to bring the rpm’s down by 200 or so to make the shift. Not satisfying.

Your late 1st gear shift MAY be addressed in my post: http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=518185
I had a issue where it did not want to leave 1st gear at ANY RPM. I posted the resolution at the end of that post, you may want to look into it.
