Yes, that is my one complaint about living here in the Bay Area. It has gotten so crowded out in the suburbs. When I got my license back in the mid 90s, I remember being off during the summers and just flying around in my mustang with no one else on the roads during the days. Now, unless you're out after about 10pm, there are cars in front of you everywhere. Most people don't speed because there's really nowhere to go to get around traffic.

To be honest I have no idea the age of the offending slowpokes tonight since it was already dark. They could be my age for all I know. As a 38 year old I drive at the speed limit AT LEAST. Not trying to bash old folks or anything just a little rant on people who drive slower than me.

Its usually electric/economy cars that drive 10mph under the limit. but for the most part everybody is just doing the limit or 5 over , just keeping up with the flow

I like to think that if I pass slow people they might get the idea and step up the pace a bit. Maybe its my temper or maybe it's my way of showing people that not everyone wants to drive like molasses.

Several years ago my office moved and my commute got a lot longer. During that time my road rage steadily grew - and so did my stress. Why don't people drive the way I drive? Why don't people drive the speed I want them to drive? I was very frustrated.

Finally one day I woke up and decided (or realized) it just wasn't worth it. I dreaded driving, and my stress levels were through the roof. And for what? So I could get to my destination minutes (more likely seconds) sooner? Just not worth it. Ever since, I have been much much happier about driving - even when I have to deal with the kinds of drivers you are complaining about.

One thing that helped me was to put myself in the shoes of other drivers. As mentioned above, maybe they are older. Perhaps they have had a bad day and are distracted (which is its own problem). Maybe they are a newer driver or are just not yet comfortable driving at the speeds you or I like to drive. I think back to the times when I had to drive with a very bad migraine, and I know for a fact I drove slower.

Fact is we all have to share the road together, and it is our responsibility to do so safely - getting angry and speeding past people aggressively just because they aren't driving the way you want them to is selfish, unsafe and not worth a possible accident. Truthfully, it also kind of makes you look like an a-hole. Even if you could have gotten to your destination 5 minutes sooner, is it worth the stress, anger and unsafe driving? No, it's not.

I know we drive fast cars, that beg to be driven faster - but when you encounter these situations, just chill out... breathe in... breathe out. Know that you will still get to where you're going.

Drive safe, and be excellent to each other.

Lugs- there are people who will never drive the speed limit. They are not comfortable driving that speed. Wait till you get to florida... it really gets fun; right turn's from the left lane etc......the blue hairs always make it interesting.

Learn to drive at the speed of traffic flow. If everyone’s
Driving at 75, you may not be able to do 80. If you weave in and out of traffic in attempt to drive 80, that makes you a jerk.

It's difficult to keep your cool when there is some a-hole in a prius doing 55, 65 speed limit, in the number 1 lane who thinks they're saving the planet. Yes I'm biased against prius drivers, they seem to be the most inconsiderate drivers around me.

Where I live people drive all over the place. Some super slow as you describe and you have to pass them on a curve. Some use no blinkers and do not use the nice turning lanes here with the wide roads in FL. Most are very old folks and you wonder did they always drove this way or is it just because they got old. I'm old too but don''t drive like this.

Other drivers that irritate me more are the ones that drive 40 MPH above the speed limit, drive erratically, tailgate and come up on you like you are standing still and I'm already going 20 MPH over the speed limit. There's a three lane road that's the best commute but I avoid taking it to work as the speed limit is 50, I drive 60 and most times I am passed like I am standing still, they are driving 80-90 MPH. Not worth it to drive so fast and get a reckless driving.

Today I ended up behind a FedEx truck doing 35mph in a 70mph zone. I had to stay behind him because I needed to exit. So did he, along with the 2 cars between us. Then he was doing 15 on the exit ramp. As soon as we got out on the main road, we all passed him.....I wish I had missiles on the front of my truck sometimes.............
