Did you buy the set of four 'lift pads' that are designed to be attached and held on with allen screws, or did you buy the premium 'Jackpad' that is designed to slide onto the pinch weld joint while lifting the car. If you have the Jackpad, they sell an optional base that it slides into and provides a large round base from which to lift the car.

I bought the set of 4 lift pads that screw on. I decided not to leave them permanently installed and left them in the trunk when they are not in use. My jack at home has a flat rubber surface and the lift pads are below the side skirts enough that nothing touched when I lifted the car up.

I bought these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GKXNX3C..._t1_B07H2Q5PZ2
You only need 2. Place them in the front rear cut out and the whole side of the car lifts and then you can place both stands on one side. Repeat on other side and car is on stands in 2 minutes. I left them in place. Last edited by Fatty1707; 03-26-2019 at 10:34 AM. |

I bought them about a year ago - today was the first time I went to put them on to change the oil.

I don't know if the 1LE side skirts are any different than "regular" ZL, but I got this idea from another forum member. Bought Byenins Large Slotted Universal Magnetic Jack Pad Weld Frame Rail Adapter "red" and a pack of 6 hockey pucks on Amazon. Glued the hockey puck to the underside of the it, which is the same diameter and it worked great. Gave me about 1 inch of clearance and the total cost was about $16. I wish it had a stronger magnet, so it would stay on the pinch weld by itself, until I got the jack under it. But for the price cant beat it.

What makes you think they sent you a set for a convertible?
The ones you showed in the picture are just the ones designed to stay on the car with the set screws. I bought a set for a 5th gen, and they look just like the ones in your picture. Their site does mention that if you have a convertible then you need to enlarge the opening a bit, but I've never had an issue when using the standard jackpad style. What I don't care for is the shape of the base on the lift pads being tapered on either side/end. To me, it seems like it'd be a bit unstable where it meets your jack. That's why I use the standard Jackpad with the optional base that it slides into. |

I did not find it hard to install at all I also used a different allen tool than the one they came with, but with them not being permanent they don't need to be torqued on to insane depth to hold in place as I put the jack on there. The way I see it is that it would be more of a pain if one came loose on the road and dented your car as it came off. |

I did not want to screw them on and leave them so I got the magnetic one with puck. Works perfectly and lifts both front and rear at the same time. |

The vert version are machined on one side to clear the X bracing and sit flush against the pinch weld seat, which is uneven on the vert. Standard pads won't fit right on the vert, but vert pads will fit fine on a coupe. Once they're mounted up you won't see the machined surface.

So how many of you guys got the lift pads and put them on before your PDI? I have mine sitting here waiting and debating going up at delivery and crawling under the car to install them before the dealer puts it on the hoist. Unless they have a drive on lift and let me get under it that way for install
