Ehh, it's a little bumpy and uneven, but then again, I have only auto-x'd at the stadium, so I don't know what other venues are like to compare to.

I actually did a lot of practicing with the iRacing game that helped me a lot and with all the different cars they offer, some are super sensitive so those cars can really help with your throttle and steering inputs to be as smooth as can be.

My bad my eyes are playing games with me, I will be at Spring Mountain that weekend.

Used to do a lot of iRacing, not as much these days, but maybe once or twice a week.

I like to use it before a track event to get my reflexes back in check.

Also learned how to left foot brake from iRacing.

Bumpy, Uneven, Fallout, Nails, you name it.

It is more an obstacle course then anything, but it is still fun.

You drive at your comfort, the bad areas I try not to go to fast or drive around it.

They are pretty good though at putting the cones away from the bad areas, or if fallout happens they will either clean it or if it is really bad, move the cones away from it.

I've done two auto-x with the 1LE and you must have much better throttle control than I. I have nannies on until last lap (usually 4) and the car is still sideways a lot. It's like I turn the wheel (probably too hard) the front just grips and throws the rear around. I am coming from an STI so there might be habits I picked up with that car that don't translate well to RWD high HP cars.

Was also curious, have you played with the sway bar adjustment in the back to help with your oversteer issue?

Thank you for sharing. I have the standard strength ZL1 which I autocrossed all year. I find that either Track / Race or full off are the best settings, but you cannot overdo your throttle inputs. I am also hitting fewer cones with the ZL1 versus my prior 997 GT3 so visibility has not really been an issue. I did have one event that had a sharp right with a bit of an elevation change, and with the A-pillar, the turn was blind for me. Still, I made do. I am having more fun with the ZL1 than with the GT3. Also, I found going to 19" which you already have, but with RE71R's helped a lot. You get more camber than I can get which will help you a bit. I am getting a bit of outside tire wear.

Is this a daily driver for you?

You can still get more camber if you want by getting it professionally done.

If you get 19s, why not just put Hoosiers on there and kill it?

Also they are coming out with 20" Hoosiers in December.

If you daily drive the car, and don't plan on getting a second set of rims, then you would not want to daily drive on Hoosiers.

No, not yet. It's been an idea running around in my head, but I never seem to get around to doing it. Is rear camber adjustable too?

I wouldn't drop down to 18s, the calipers might not fit up front, not sure.

Just get a second set of 19s, and run either R7 or A7 (A7 more for AX) 315 front, 325 rear and you will know why they compare Hoosiers to crack.

I have been using it as a daily driver since I can't stop driving it. Still, I currently have 3 full sets of wheels and rims. I was running A Street which allows me to go one inch down in wheel size but does not allow Hoosiers or non-standard camber. I believe Cam class would allow me to do more with camber but still not allow Hoosiers... Hoosiers would be fun and it might be worth changing class. I have not figured out next years approach.

It is a pain working around the RE71R size limitations. In A Street, I am running 305 71R's on the rear and 285's on the front, both on 19" Wheels. That combination feels pretty good on the standard ZL1. 305's can handle the 650 HP and Torque of your vehicle. You would be in even a better situation with more meat on the fronts. It would be a nice package. I can't do 305's upfront and stay in street.

That said, with all nannies off, while doable with 305's, the car could really use as much tire as you can fit, especially since I don't believe the ZL1 1LE can run in the street class anyway. Today, I really have to modulate the throttle to not overwhelm the tires. The car is great with 305's on the rear. It might be greater..er with more tire.

I really like the 71R's for autoX. They heat up quickly and do not wash out through the day. I wouldn't use them for the track but they are "the" tire currently for cone work.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have tried the stock Supercar 3's that came on the car. They are OK. I have not tried the R. It is good to have options. I may actually take your Hoosier advice sometime in the near future. That could be fun.
