Here we go again.

What did you guys do to the cooling system to support all that additional power while running the car hard on a race track for an extended period of time?

* crickets *

The ZL1 1LE is already a track monster, more hp is overkill and will do you no good. As redline says this customer isn't concerned about the track.

The ZL1 has 11 heat exchanges, I wonder how much extra hp there good for?

Additional HP is the last thing I'm concerned with when you're talking about a track car.

I'm going to take a silly guess and say that this 1,000 hp ZL1 1LE is now ruined from being able to make laps at speed now. So why didn't the owner start with a standard ZL1?

LOL.... @ the here we go again since you responded on my last LOL... I know to each his own isn't always acceptable to some on here.

As we all know some don't buy a track car to actually track the car.... But don't get me wrong you can track 1000 plus HP car with the right supporting mods. But I'm guessing that's not what we have here. We have a failure to communicate.... (insert guns n roses song)

Does it really matter? It's his car and the owner can choose to modify however he likes. He doesn't owe anyone an explanation on why he chose the mods.

You're absolutely right.

But I'm seeing a pattern here with "Camaro owners" that will likely go something like this - most ZL1 1LE owners won't even take their cars to the track even though they bought a full blown track car. It's sad. And, I've seen more threads about adding big horsepower to these cars than threads discussing track driving and discussions on track setup. That's why we need a 1LE subform so you "horsepower" guys can talk about the things that us track guys could give 2 shits about.

What you really need is a track forum/thread...

http://www.camaro6.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=258

As we all know there is not a section for ZL1 1LE so this post is in its proper place. And the ZL1 section talks quite a bit about increasing HP. You could always discuss this with the mods to not allow such material to be posted or have it moved if they so agree.

A valid point!
It's too bad you couldn't muster the maturity to state this without sounding condescending.

I don't have a 1LE ZL1 but I still track. As listed above there's already a road track forum for such things.

Two questions if you don't mind:

1 - What tires would you recommend at this power level?
2 - Were you able to tune out the ELSD lag at launch?

Thanks

I don't understand people like you. You have the option of just ignoring it if you don't understand some people's desire for more power regardless if it's a track car or not. Believe it or not many people want more power no matter what it's used for, you don't have to understand it, and you certainly don't have to comment on what others choose to do with their own damn car and with their own damn money.
