The extra is for the real Carbon Fibre.

I literally had ZERO issues getting the stock fitting out that everyone is complaining about. I didn't even loosen the oetiker clamp. I grabbed it with my pliers and pulled it out with some effort. Not even hard.

After seeing these pics I'm certainly glad I went with the Rotofab setup. Filter is smaller by a good bit. To each their own though.

If K/N sourced a fitting why can't RotoFab?

Some guys say the OEM fitting came out real easy, some said it was a bitch.

Shouldn't be an issue, just include the fitting, I'm sure it wouldn't cost much.

Filter is WAY larger than needed to flow stock power levels. If it was a restriction your point would be valid.

No. The MAF goes in a separate plastic tube the bolts to the shield.

This whole clamp nonsense. I broke mine right off without a second thought. I'll get a standard clamp or something if I ever go back to stock. It isn't even worth mentioning.

Its NOT nonsense when you get a warranty problem...:(

Not all of us have friendly dealers, I have to swap to OEM if the car goes to the dealer. I have 3 dealers within 20 miles, all 3 are dicks..:(

What would you do with the ported TB? Would you replace it with the stock one to play it safe?

Nonsense isn't a very good descriptor. It's just a data point that's not important to some (you, others).....and is important to some (me, others). This post wasn't meant to claim any sort of superiority, just to share my experience and thoughts on the product.

I wouldn't even consider yanking a plastic fitting out of the stock until with metal pliers....let alone destroying the clamp. But that's just my preference. Yours may vary.

I'm with you, the clamp was really easy to remove, and should go right back if I need to.

This is my second Camaro with a CAI and went with Roto Fab this time. Why? Because the whole dealer warranty concern was BS here, I never had a moments problem with service on the 2010, and in fact always told the advisor not to flash the tune because I had a custom job. They were more fascinated with the whole mod setup, headers, etc than worrying about what I had on the car aftermarket. Now did I blow the engine or transmission? Nope it's a good product. I think the worry is silly unless you are the 1 in 10,000 that drops an engine.

looks great op, but it looks like it would be more of a hot air intake. those lt4's radiate a ton of heat, and that intake has no lid.
