If thats your way of looking at it that's fine, but by putting on some spacers your stock SS car can have the wider fenders too.

I am so confused, are the part numbers the same for the ZL1 and ZL1 1LE fenders? are the part numbers the same for ZL1 fenders and regular Camaro Fenders? So a bracket makes them wider by distorting the metal slightly or mounts them more angled giving the impression of width?

Any updates on this?

Matt Farah is pro Mustang and his fat ass bounces on a flat surface in the 1LE. I don't believe what he says. Maybe 70% correct.

Summary:

Fender mold = same
Fender mounting = NOT same

What we dont know is if there is any secondary process done to alter "molded" part to achieve desired look besides modified mounts, which seems far too simple solution.

So.. who has 3D laser scanner handy ?

The ZL1 and other Camaros have 2 different part numbers for the fender. I think the mounts are the same on the stock cars and the difference is in the actual sheet metal. I have looked at them very closely due to an incident and it appears the ZL1 fender flares out more than the other Camaro fenders. It is so hard to tell with just your eyes, but I took measurements from fender to fender across the hood and also from hood to edge of fender lip. Measurements were identical across the hood, but the ZL1 fender sticks out further from the hood to the lip.

The ZL1 and ZL1 1LE use the same wider fenders all other Camaro models use the non wide fenders. Here are the part numbers to clear up the confusion.

ZL1/ZL1 1LE
84326265- left fender
84326264- right fender

SS/SS 1LE/LT/LS
23221297- left fender
23221296- right fender

This puts to bed the "ZL1 1LE is wider" myth used here often.
