I have not measured but the way I read the supplement, it makes me think factory is -1 degree. Spinning the adjustment adds -1.7 degrees which brings you to a total of -2.7 degrees. At some point, I'll have it checked out.

Absolutely! I know there is plenty of time being left on the table. I'm not used to the new car, heck, I've not even run it in race mode plus the track was wet. But the biggest thing is I'm well aware there are much better drivers out there. In the right hands, this this is unreal. I'll say this, the last track day I had with my Gen 5 ZL1 about a month and a half ago, I was out and doing well but there was a guy in a Volkswagen GTI of some kind which was incredibly hard to pass. I eventually did get around him but it took a lot of effort. After the session, I went up to him to tell him that I thought he was an amazing driver and sure enough it turns out he is a former dirt track racer! What car control this guy had and, despite a huge power deficit he was able to drive like a boss.

The take away is that the ZL1 1LE was easy enough to get used to that I (a constant in the equation) was able to do better in my first day out (first session out actually) than my very best day with the last car AND that turning a (personal) record lap felt well inside the envelope of the car's capabilities. As I get more comfortable and confident I expect times to drop. Sub 1 minute is hard to believe but it is my personal goal - and I'll get there. I'd love to follow your buddy who is already driving at that level and watch his line...

Nice write-up. I plan to take mine to Roebling Road in GA in NOV. Unfortunately that is the soonest I will be able to get to a track.

Would it be possible for you or your mechanic make a video of adjusting the front camber when you have it put back?

You have to use VLC to get the audio...that should be fixed. However from what I understand it's been that way since the first Corvette PDR so my hopes of a factory fix via a software update are slim at best.
You may already know this....it's actually a bug in QuickTime, so it affects PDR videos on all Apple devices (iPhone, iPad, AppleTV, Mac).

Great Write up David!
I was hoping top be the first one to get the car and highlight all the Pro's of the car on the track, but too many dealers asking a crazy premium!
My Homebase track is LIMEROCK aswell. maybe youve seen me....i run with SCDA, EMRA, HOD...i have the 2011 E92 M3 thats wrapped in 911 Riviera Matte Blue. My best times at LRP was 59's on a street R comp tire, 58's on a slick...im happy knowing i can achieve that in my Registered Street car. i know for a fact i can get into 57's with the 1LE. the car is stout!
Im running with SCDA this coming Monday the 14th. Will you make it?
I'm also doing NASA TT on the 25th and 26th. Hopefully you'll show face.
I would love to see your car in person, you may email me if you ever decide to hit up LRP and i can sit in with you or vice versa...i have over 28 days at LRP...its not much but i understand the track and the limits.

Good idea, I'll see if I can do that.

I did know that the issue is present on all Apple's devices. My "fix" was a lot harder than what you suggested, I exported the audio an married it to the video in iMovie but exporting a new format would be great - so long as there is no loss of quality. I'll give it a shot when I get home tonight. Thank you!

As soon as I read "....one of the first on the planet to get one..." I stopped reading and closed the thread.

congrats on the new car and detailed write up

I have a few questions:
Have you noticed any understeer with the recommended -2.7 camber? Is the front suspension lowered ? Do you recall the rear stabilizer adjustment setting (neutral, understeer or oversteer)?

Thanks in advance

I'll email you directly and look forward to meeting you. As of now, I'm registered for the next BMW club outing on Sept 23rd at LRP but I'll do another event or two between. Mondays are hard, which is too bad because I love SCDA.

No clue, it is what the supplement calls for and the dude abides.

Thank you. No, I didn't put a bra on there. Oddly I didn't have much unusual wear on my 5th Gen without one. I do have to pick bits of rubber off the front very often but that hasn't been a big deal thus far. Plus with a black car, it all just blends...

Why? As far as I know, the first person to get one was Joe (Mr. Wyndham) and his was delivered on the same truck as mine. Oddly I didn't want to be the guinea pig, it just worked out that way.

Thank you. No, if anything I'd say it has neutral to a touch of oversteer compared with what I'm used to on the 5th gen. I didn't touch the rear at this point.

Only it's true. One of the 1st 2 delivered to the same dealer, at the same time, to the public. Fact, not fake news.
