The 550 Maranello has 476HP and 419lb tq and weight 3900lbs... Your 550 is much slower than the ZL1 1LE. Much slower... Have you even gone over the break in mileage so it's not limiting your RPM?

Except the 550 weighs 3900lbs... I think he's not past the break-in period on the LT4 and his power band is limited.

Ok, So maybe I should research myself, but are the LT4's limited from the factory until they reach so many miles or what?

I do not think there is any limiter on the rpm.
I just brought it home and I think 3 times I ran it up to 6000 for a brief moment.
It is fast though. It has more hp and torque than my maranello but it does not pin you back in the seat the way the ferrari does. The camaro just seems to take off smoothly.
It steers and lane changes faster for sure but there is less feel to the steering than the maranello which takes much more effort to steer.
I hope it keeps getting faster.
The gearing may have been different though. My Maranello comes on strong from 110 and pulls light a freight train right up to 185 is the fastest I have had it but it is a true 200mph car for sure. Lots of grunt above 100 and at 160 on long sweeping curves it is planted solid with no swaying or having to fight the line you are taking. Camaro feels lighter and steers easier.
Too soon to tell how the camaro will be.
Both are very different but the stats on this camaro sold me sight unseen.
I just want to replace the brake lines with stainless steel and would like to change the dash which looks like felt covered cardboard with the carbon fiber one. Ordered a carbon fiber license plate holder today. The chrome Ferman Motors just wasn't making it.
First car I ever owned with a Bat Wing. What a great looking car and it even has programmable led lights inside for ambient lighting.
Reading all the books now. They put me to sleep. I am not a high tech guy.
I leave all the traction control and stabiltrac turned off. Always have with my other cars also.
So far played with it in track and sport mode. Have not called on star yet and registered and do not want it after the free 3 months.
I love the xm radio and have two other cars with it so will get new subscription when free 3 months is up. In past I bought lifetime subscription for one fee, now they do not do that so I will have to get one of their monthly plans for it.

There is no break-in program on these cars...... they will go full bore if you want them to...... as these motors free up they run stronger.....

I could not resist as I was on a large highway with not much traffic so i had several stretched where I ran it up to 6K in several gears. It goes from 80 to 130 in the blink of an eye in like 4th gear.
Had trouble down shifting from 5th to 4th numerous times as I could not find it. I had to feel for it where my other car has gates to guide you.
The rev matching is really nice. It is just like my ducati motorcycle. No need to blip the throttle when letting out the clutch in the car.
I think when tracking there is no need to heel and toe anymore with rev matching.
You guys with paddle shifters are used to this I think.
This car is going to be a riot to play with and will get faster. Thats great.
I was using a lot of throttle in 2,3,4th gear and I think had no wheel spin when accelerating with traction control de activated.
All this will resolve with miles, engine opens up, gearbox feel improves and with 1700 mile on car and a Maimo TB, it's a freakin' animal! much better than before break-in

Both cars weigh roughly 3,900 lbs, ZL1 650/650, Maranello 476/419. You are correct, he is most likely not past the break-in period, most certainly a factor. I'll give him a ride, bet he feels the difference then...

Ok, I found an old thread related to Tony Maimo throttle bodies.
Are you guys able to make much more power by changing from stock exhaust and throttle bodies? Do these changes alter your warrantee?
I know changing superchargers would I am assuming.
But I read articles about lots of guys putting LT4's in old muscle cars and getting 850 rear wheel horsepower and wonder if that might be a future project after the warrantee runs out.
I am still in the process of learning about new muscle motors.
thanks
