Man, 800 DA. What I would have given to have that yesterday. It was 92 degrees and DA was 3650, I could have been in the 10.60s, maybe even 10.50s at over 130 instead of 10.70s @129. How many miles on your car Dave?
At sea level, I think you'll be in the 10.4s or quicker. I have 1600 miles on it now.

Not sure which trap speed to believe. The slips were 123mph and 121mph, but my PDR videos and speedo were showing 127 and 126.
Wow, fantastic times for such a bad da! I know it must've felt great to finally unleash the beast at the track.

Simply holding the traction control button for 7 seconds will turn everything off.

Thanks for the info. I did not know this worked in these cars. When I did this in my 2013 ZL1 the I had to tap it twice and hold it down, this car you must hit it once and then hold. Does any indicators come up on the screen? Thanks for the help.

I've only been once and given the advances in this cars cooling I couldn't help wondering if it may cool down better idling than shut off completely (if someone didn't have fans, etc).

I don't put any fans on mine. But I always park it facing into the wind, with the hood open.

Knowing how bad heat soak affects performance it only makes sense to help cool the motor between rounds. Maybe that's why my cars run the times they do. I like to be consistent and fast. My 5th gen would routinely lose a couple tenths from heat soak, this one won't be much different. If you don't believe me, touch your intake after making a pass then go back and touch it after 1/2 hour. You may be surprised to find that the intake is hotter than after making the pass.

When it's cool outside with a decent wind blowing, I pop the hood open and turn it into the wind. When it's warmer than 70 degrees out, it doesn't cool down fast enough to maintain consistency between passes. Believe me I love racing, but I want to run the quickest possible times when I run. It's a waste for me to run if the car is so hot it's going to affect the performance. Like I said before, it has a ton of coolers for the road course, but it means nothing when drag racing, IMO.

Thanks! Yes it did! I've been trying to get it to the strip for over 2 months now. Everytime I'd plan to go, it'd rain. Finally got the break I've been looking for, but the conditions were definitely less than optimal.

When drag racing, nothing is immune from heat soak, but I'm really impressed with how the Z handled it. I basically hot lapped the car 7 runs in a row and my first and last runs were almost identical other than losing 2 mph. 60' was basically the same, as well as the ET. Everything in between was a little slower as I was trying different launch and burnout methods.

What would be really cool for us drag racers, would be a method of circulating the coolants and running fans to cool the engine between runs, or at least the supercharger.

Great times guys....keep up the good work!!
Seems like a good thing to eventually have is some sort of interchiller for the drag racing folks for consistency.

On my 2012 ZL1 I rigged up a switch that turned on the SC coolant pump and radiator fan at the same time. Worked great. Will eventually do the same on this car.

That's along the lines of what I was thinking about. Did you put the switch under the hood, since you're going to be raising it anyway?

Yes. Just under the fuse box.

As far as running the fan and intercooler pump go, you may be able to set this up with HP Tuners. I haven't looked at a ZL1 tune file yet, but I set up my Magnuson supercharged C6 to run the fan and intercooler pump after shutdown with warmer coolant temps. There was quite a bit of customizing possible. I'm guessing the same could be done on this car. I know some people might be afraid of flashing the ECU due to possible warranty issues, but I'd personally try this before adding a switch or modifying wiring.

You all have pretty good ideas about different ways to cool the engine...but there may be questions raised as to whether the car is still considered stock. I don't want to deviate in any way from what the factory has given us. Cooling the intake and blower with a fan shouldn't effect its' stock status...at least I don't think so. .
