That's kinda what I was trying to figure out. We can't put diesel injectors in, but neither do diesel guys. They jack the hell out of the high side pump and that's where they get the extra fuel. With that added pressure comes a more instant vaporization, which will cure the issue with having droplets in the chamber. As for the time frame aspect, with the added pressure, in theory you can inject more volume for a set time with the higher pressure though a fixed orifice, in this case the injector tip. It's the same reason guys buy 120 lb/hr injectors and can make them feed a larger engine since the run a base pressure of 80 psi vs the 43 psi that the injector is rated at.

The real question is, at what point will the injectors fail to fire due to too much pressure?
