I would be furious if someone did that with my car, on top of that, the person doesn't know how to drive a stick. You're handling it much better than I would. Are you married? Tell him you hope he doesn't mind, you took his GF or wife out for a test spin too, that will strike a nerve LOL

Man, I wonder how the station chief would have explained having to send 911 to his own fire station if that had been me. It would have happened for sure....

Wow. I would have gotten physical if someone did that to my car. You showed great restraint and I commend you for it... However, at a minimum if you chose not to bash their ****ing head in, I would have called the police to report someone joy riding your car. Thats not even a prank, thats straight negligence and down right WRONG on multiple legal and ethical levels. Sorry you had to endure that OP. You should be reporting this to your superiors ASAP. Start parking your car in valet mode so you can get it on tape next time.

As someone already mentioned get a kill switch installed. I have one in mine and I could leave the keys in the ignition with a high level of confidence that no one would be able to figure out how to start it. Not that I would do that mind you.

I see you are in Charlotte, I am going to bug you to come out to our autocross events at zMax so you can use that car like it was intended.

Haha gotta take it easy because I have to save the tires! I forgot about valet mode to be honest with you. I can start doing that from now on. Still waiting to see if anyone gets me that invoice too

Does valet mode turn the PDR On? I was under the assumption that all it does is disable the ability to change dash settings etc.

It will turn PDR on anytime the key is switched on. It will not record audio though.

Any time I drop the car off for service, oil, tires, alignment etc. Anything, I put Valet mode on.

This is good to know! Thanks for the clarification. I seem to remember an article when the Corvette first came out with PDR that there were legal ramifications for recording audio in valet mode, so they had to update it to turn it off.
