I was doing to hood wrap regardless of the ZL1/1LE.....Totally agree it will be a rough drive if not on a track, especially if the local roads are not nice, new-ish and smooth.

Crap...
I thought I had my mind made up but... Anyway, after waiting like forever... the dealer called and the black Beast is here... just got unloaded from the truck, black ZL1 with 3 miles on odometer... Stopped by to check it out and it's a little dirty and it looks broad and mean and understated and it has (blasphemy) a sunroof... Fired it up and sounds so good... blipped throttle and got all sorts of crackles and pops... so... made up my mind this thing is going to be my daily driver rain or shine... will slap a set of all weather and drive it in winter... Am going to hold off on 1LE until more info on next dual overhead cam / possible N/A Z28 after mid-cycle refresh. The current ZL1-1LE is a little too much for daily driver duty. My experience with Focus RS was that sometimes if things are too tight and stiff, you can indeed get a headache after a long trip on bumpy roads and it becomes a pain... Roads in and around Boston are rough and won't be friendly to the 1LE... ALSO, just can't bear the wait of the whole ordering process etc... Finally, my start button is also BLACK and NOT SILVER. ![]() ![]() Will post pics when deed is done ! |

Proud to be 2nd (official) member of the black ZL1 start button of North America...!!! Also known as " Hey .. got anymore of those silver buttons? Nah? Ok just throw in a black one from the SS, no one will know... I mean what are they going to do? Refuse delivery on a car they've been dreaming of for 6 months??"

I hear ya. I'd be bothered too it sitting in hold over a button. I had a 1,000.00 deposit in April of 2016 for one. That was a long wait, so I know the feeling. ![]() Congrats on the purchase. Enjoy it. They're fun. I'm loving mine. |

After seeing that video a few weeks back of that kid in Daytona when they unveiled that new Camaro, the new 2018 ZL1 1LE, I am very impressed. The big pronounced carbon fiber wing is really nice and functional. Chevy is finally upping their game on the historic Camaro. The Mustang clearly cannot compete. Thanks Chevy!

Ok, my opinion is 2nd thoughts now that you bought it, but I have had "all the best", whatever that means. But you made the right choice. You can add all the stuff you want. I added to the Mustang GT the Fully Adjustable suspension from Ford Racing that lowered it an inch, I set it on performance and it was stiffer than the GT350 on Track, but not by much. It was a semi-daily and it was fine. When I put the GT350 on Sport, the GT350 was softer. So you can get used to it is my point if you add the newer suspension from the ZL1 1LE. The rest is just aero bits for the most part.
Drive it, enjoy it and modify slowly and research beforehand. Congrats
