umm...yeah, it's a $40K performance car, not an $80K, you want a leather dash, go spend $80K.

Thought the eLSD works in all modes besides just Track PTM as stated in vid. Ref. Performance screen showing axle % in any mode....

Can someone confirm?

Maybe...HP supplement says:

"improves vehicle stability during....is fully integrated with active handling and performance traction management (PTM) systems."

then it goes on and describes each track mode.

but the question is: is active handling on during all modes? if so, then i'd say the eLSD is doing it's thing all the time, it just does it differently if you've selected one of the track modes.

You know he's owned a C5Z for like... 10 years right? It was his first real sports car. The fox body was only recently added to his stable (like 2-3 years ago) - He might be a muscle car or v8 guy... but definitely isn't a Mustang guy.

I used to like Matt's reviews from 3-5 years ago or more, but I feel like over the last 2-3 years he's acted more brash and dick-ish for more views/shock value, and I just don't enjoy that schtick anymore.

Honestly I have a hard time with most car reviewers these days besides Carlos Lago (and maayyybe Jonny Lieberman)

Yes and it also had a crappy interior. GT350 costs more than 1LE, has the same hard plastics, and he doesn't mention a word about materials let alone call them garbage.

Yeah, his ego was drowning out most of what he was talking about.

I almost stopped watching after he hit the dasboard like 100 times crying like he just bought a cadillac cts-v for 90k, it was lame as hell.

eLSD as far as I know is always "on". But it just does more when in track mode, and using the PTM modes. If you have the eLSD screen up, and you are just driving normally, the percentage numbers will stay at 0-3% or so until you start to romp on it in turns and such. At least that is what I noticed in my one time with that screen up...I'm sure others can verify too.

+1

I really think it was him just trying to find something negative about the car to appear to be giving a balanced review. We all know it's absolute BS for the price point to complain about the dash.

The MotorTrend crew are my current favorites. The Head2Head videos are fun and well done.

I wouldn't get so offended by it guys. He still gave a pretty glowing review of the car otherwise and I'm sure a lot of the complainst of the interior are product of him just having gotten out of an Aston Martin DB11.

Good review. Yeah the top of the dash is hard plastic, but it is nicely grained and feels good when you normally touch it. Hard yes, but good. That is a whole worlds better than old GM interiors. Hard plastic and felt like crap.
