Get an SS, and expect the reliability! Chevy motors are amazing.

Be sure to check the paint for these dull circles.

It appears the OP is looking for some style, reliability, racking up the miles and a reasonable price. I'm a V8 guy but with a lower price of a v6 purchase, better mpg's, lower overall maintenance cost and insurance, I think the v6 is the better option in this case. Permission granted to go forth and stimulate the economy with a V6 purchase.

I had a V6 in my 45th Anniversary, drove it for my weekend car... loved it, the new V6 has more HP, not sure about the 350 posted by another member though. I think they bounce around somewhere in the 330 to 335 range stock. The new Gen-6 is lighter as well. Having said that, a V6 simply cannot match the torque of a V8 however if you can't feel the difference between the two, perhaps your driving style isn't going to be compromised, or the difference isn't enough to matter... if this is the case, go with the V6 and save yourself some money or load it up with options. They are great cars, but for my two cents, the V8 is great...

If you can't feel a difference then your driving style won't need the extra hp. Get the v6.

I am riding a Camry right now and want something more exciting. I test drove Lexus RC and GS but they dont feel much diff than the Camry. Want something with a soul.

I dont expect reliability of the Camry, I bought it when it had 60k on it and now it has 161k. Just changed oil and put in gas, that's all. But how about Camaro 6th, how many miles before you took it to the shop?
Or any info or suggestion or even tell me I am better off stay away if I am gonna put alotta miles on it.

A Camry to a Camaro...LOL..like going from Lollipops to hard liquor. If you get the SS you will need to exercise restraint. Goodluck coming from a Camry. LOL.

X-45 has a good point, driving style. I dont race, I dont jump start at the lights, usually, but I prefer to have the power handy. From what I see v6 is one second behind v8 in 0-60 ? I understand that's a lot of difference but maybe not for my driving style.
V8 has way better resale value though, that I know.

Gen 5 SS ran high 12s....Gen 6 V6 runs mid to high 13s. Not bad but equates to a few car lengths in the 1/4 mile.

One more vote for the V8. Since you're coming from a Camry, you're used to an automatic, right? The A8 auto with the V8 gives you a feature called "active fuel management" or AFM. In touring mode it will kick down to 4 cylinder operation when you're not heavy on the gas pedal and I get over 30 mpg on the highway.

Chevy has the poorest paint jobs for sure. At the dealer, I was sitting by a 70k Corvette and couldnt help but notice the orange peal on the red pain.

Any of you familiar with Harley Davidson paint jobs? Some of the best paint jobs I have seen
