Here's a video I found of a Thinkware F770 install in a 2017 Camaro SS, using the trunk fusebox and an auxiliary battery. Not a Blackvue, but the installation concept is still the same. Doesn't totally work for me. Convertible means no roof liner routing. Also means getting very creative about where to place rear camera.

There is definitely both switched and constant 12v in the trunk, I used those to power my Blackvue power magic there. At least the 2SS. I can get the fuse numbers when I get back to my car this afternoon.

No, i said for non converts in the passenger A-Pillar you have a connector with both keyed power and power always on and ground do you need more then that?

that sounds much easier than pulling wires through the firewall. You recall which wire was keyed by chance? |

Well, since I have a convertible, I guess it won't really help. Thanks for the clarification.

What bugs me is I see some guys have fuses (that work) that would only be in a 2SS but they have a 1SS. It seems to be random though. There's a relay (K6) in my front fuse box which serves no purpose, but not all SS cars have a relay there, even in the same year/options. Almost like they switched suppliers or just didn't bother to check what was being installed on the line.

Also, something to keep in mind, you dont need to run ground to a wire (running the length of the car)... just wire it to any chassis component you can attach your camera's ground wire to. So you should only have to deal with finding the right spot for a power wire, ground is nearly everywhere.
If you can't find a nice fuse, you can always wire to the fender lights. I think those turn on with the car and stay on regardless of day/night and they're fairly easy to access. |

If i may, remember to see how much amps are needed you dont want to pull to much or less then you need for power.

Did you have any luck with finding a place for the rear camera? I'm still looking at cameras and would like one for the rear.
