Can you expand on why the S Type is the better choice?
Per many recommendations and talking to borla Tennessee and California the S is a deeper muscle car tone, the Atak while louder is a higher pitched twwweeeeeeeeeee sound.

I got the NPP when I put stealth or tour it def quiets down the closed sound is deeper than stock , FULLY OPEN, its overall more bass throaty put quiets in stealth and tour and opens up in sport and track it stays moderately quiet when fully open unless you punch it it rumbles perfectly.

You have to make your own cat back if you want to keep NPP so I got x pipe and full rear... with 2.75 inch pipes , the cat back doesn't have NPP and is 3 inch because they assume you want headers if you get that ... thats what borla told me to do.

Is the borla x pipe required to properly mate the exhaust to the stock system? Could one just put on the s type to the stock x pipe? You're not helping my intended decision to not buy an aftermarket exhaust.

No it's not required. The axle back exhausts attach to the stock x-pipe by cutting the stock muffler off and using clamps to attach the new mufflers.

Just tuck the exhaust in a touch to where the borla writing on the inside pipe is covered. That'll get you the best look, imo

In stealth the car is definitely quiet. Probably a bit louder than the stock stealth but not by much.

Borla does make this catback system in NPP with 2.75 pipes I have it. Just have to buy it in two parts

True and that's what he did. He bought the "x pipe w mid pipe" and the "axle back w/ npp", combined them together to effectively make a catback
