Typically you dont repair RF, but as stated in the thread some can it depends on the location and it can be done atleast once, professionally is always recommended from the inside.

There's a template they use to see how close to the side wall. If it's in the middle of the tire the dealer will patch it for $35, if it's in the solid rubber sidewall they will not patch it and will tell you to get a new tire.
